Bendis teases more about the ending of Age of Ultron:
Halfway through the story something very dramatic happens after a bold decision is made that will forever alter the way we look at the Marvel universe. And with that comes different art from different artists to represent where we are. And the big one is, the ending is so secret and so big that only a few people know about it, even within the confines of Marvel publishing. Joe Quesada is drawing the end of the book; even the regular artists of AoU don’t know how it ends. Readers cannot guess, it cannot be guessed.
“It cannot be guessed” is some “It’ll break the Internet in half”-level hyperbole right there. But is this the first time that we’ve found out about Quesada drawing the final pages of the book?
(Between the multiple artists on the book and that first issue, this really does feel like Marvel’s Final Crisis in many ways, doesn’t it…?)

Is that how we judge things now, by whether you can guess what happens? Kurt Vonnegut said, “Give your readers as much information as possible as soon as possible. To hell with suspense. Readers should have such complete understanding of what is going on, where and why, that they could finish the story themselves, should cockroaches eat the last few pages.” which is pretty much the exact opposite of “no one will ever be able to guess what happens,” isn’t it?

Trying to figure out a way to combine the “said nobody ever” meme with the Shyamalan “What a twist!” bit…

uh…#1 left me scratching my head. Which Spiderman are they saving? Peter or Otto?? When and where and how did Ultron do this?? Will Bendis answer these and all of the other questions I have in just a couple of issues? My gut is saying yes, without doubt. Bendis is good. Marvel kinda knows what they are doing. Will it change the way we see the Marvel Universe? Who knows. I wouldn’t mind seeing the entire Marvel line rebooted and New-52′d to get rid of the glut of titles and continuity crisis… and why the heck was Nick Fury black in Secret Avengers #1??

Sounds like a bad story – if the ending cant be guess or gleaned from the 9 issues before it then what is the point.
The point of the climatic twist is the clues that lead up to it, not something so crazy just for the sake of crazy.

Looks like all the people who fell for House of M will fall for this new series: “House of M-again.”
Like most, if not all Marvel events, nothing of any real significance will be changed, and that’s fine because not every story needs to change everything. It’s just that Marvel always feels the need to hype it up as “this will change things FOREVER!!!!”
Stop with the carnival barking and just tell a good story.

Whatever it is (probably next to nothing, given Bendis’ past prediliction for baseless hype), I really hope it’s not a reboot.
Marvel have just won me back on a handful of books. Then again, I there’s no possible way a Marvel reboot could be handled worse (from a creative standpoint) than DC’s was.

First of all, has anyone else put together that “Age of” is a pretty good indicator that this series will end up as an alternate continuity? Age of Apocalypse, Age of X, this will be undone without a question, the issue is what the effect on the greater Marvel U will look like after 99% of the changes are undone.
