Seeing Marvel use “Secret Origin” as the tagline for an upcoming Iron Man arc was a surprising moment, considering the long, long history of the title/phrase at DC. It’s a particularly amusing, somewhat cheeky poke at the “Distinguished Competition,” somewhat akin to the “good old days” of Identity Disc being released at the same time as Identity Crisis. So what’s the inevitable retaliation from DC going to look like, I wonder…? Well, we have been warned that something called Trinity War is coming – What is the likelihood that it’ll be advertised as a series of “Secret Wars”? Or, perhaps, we should wait for a new team-up title called DC Two-in-One? Personally, I’m holding out for a Justice League storyline called “Excelsior, True Believers,” but I might be waiting awhile for that one.
