It’s a mistake to label this the “Cosmic line.” Nova, the Guardians of the Galaxy are as deeply woven into the fabric of the Marvel Universe as Spider-Man or the X-Men, and we’re going to remind readers of that in 2013. The Guardians won’t be fueling up their spacecraft on the planet Gronk when the $#!% hits the fan — they’ll be right in the thick of it.

I sort of liked that the cosmic books were in their own corner of Marvel. You didn’t have to know much about the rest of Marvel to like them.

But then, I also liked DnA, and they are long gone.

Tim, I don’t see how you came to that conclusion…he’s not saying these aren’t space books, just that they aren’t off in their own universe and will be interacting with the rest of the universe. In fact, earlier in the interview Alonso mentions utilizing space and the negative zone (for example) in a broadening of the line.

Or, ya know, you could use your own predetermined conclusions and take things out of context to justify your impotent internet rage, whatever works!

So . . . the editor of the books actively dismisses the actual historical premise of these books (at least, the Guardians, Nova was more earth-centric in its first run). Nice one.
