Want to Pre-Order the Sandy Relief Issue of HAWKEYE? Today’s The Day

Hey, when you head to a comic store today, remember these words from Matt Fraction:

These are your LAST DAYS to tell them to ORDER YOU A COPY OF HAWKEYE #7. I am donating my incentives — meaning everything I make based on how well it sells — to the Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief.

Tell them you want HAWKEYE #7. Order code is NOV120725.

And thanks. Go Team #HAWKGUY

Today is, I believe, the final day to pre-order the issue, which comes out Jan 30. I’ve seen some cynicism online – I know, I’m as shocked as you are – about this being as much a ploy to raise sales on Hawkeye overall as much as it is an attempt to raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief, and you know what? I’m okay with that, because (a) I like Hawkeye overall, and (b) it still raises money for Hurricane Sandy relief. Plus, Steve Lieber and Jesse Hamm art, which is always good.

Here’s the thing, Hawkeye is the best comic Marvel is publishing right now and everyone should buy it, but seeing people say they’re going to buy 2 or more copies to give to Sandy relief bugs me since most of that money is just going to Marvel, Diamond and the retailef. If people really want to help with Sandy, buy the comic (because it’s surely darn good) and then send an extra $3 to the Red Cross or another organization helping with Sandy relief.
