Digital First Books Do Well in Print Editions…?

Marc-Oliver Frisch’s look at DC’s October sales sheds light on something I’d not noticed – Namely, DC’s “digital first” books are doing quite well in the Direct Market, with the lowest-selling (Smallville Season 11) still outselling every Vertigo title and many New 52 titles quite handily, and seeing very little sales attrition issue-to-issue; Legends of The Dark Knight debuts with sales of 43,000, which is kind of amazing for what’s essentially a reprint book. The DM’s relationship to digital material continues to surprise and confuse me, I admit.
