@CagedLeo730 Ah well that’s kind of what I figured. I usually don’t go for variant covers unless I like the art and in this case I’d rather have the American flag as it holds more symbolism and loyalty to me than my state flag. Just my opinion though

@ Logan. The difference with the variants will be the Flags. Each variant will depict the respective state Flags. Those flags will be where the USA flag is on the main cover.

A Vibe book? I say that is a GREAT idea! DC has such a wealth of second and third level characters, that is a splendid idea to actually showcase some of them. Certainly a better use of them,than gratuitously killing them off. In fact the more that they have solos or minis for B-listers and below, the happier I shall be.

And, I will buy it and I will read it.

@Richard In the end I think it’ll end up that way. NY retailers will order mostly NY variant, maybe a few Jersey ones. CA retailers will order mostly CA variants. It’s all about representing their states. Transplants from other states better pre-order their variant.

I think the Vibe series is part of move to “organically” grow the Justice League line. Clearly DC is taking a page from The Avengers and The X-Men.

The most shocking thing about this post to me is that Graeme did two things I have NEVER seen him do:

1. Updated the initial post when presented with new information.

2. Responded to a comment that questioned his initial premise.

I hope these are both practices that Graeme plans to continue. I don’t think his usual “post & run” style does him any favors.

I think it is a public service. Whatever type of music, dance, sport, or whatnot they tie Vibe into; that will officially be over when Vibe #1 comes out. I’m hoping it Vibe, the MMA-powered superhero.

It’s more just that Vibe is SUCH an obscure character from such an unpopular time in the Justice League’s history (who has been “dead” for the past 25 years, and was only around before that for, what, two years? three?) that it seemed like a crazy choice. You’re right, though; if I want publishers not to concentrate on existing franchises and well-established characters, why not Vibe?

What’s wrong with a Vibe solo title? It seems like half the time we complain about DC and Marvel only putting Justice League, Avengers, X-men and Batman titles. The other half is spent saying that they didn’t put out exactly what we expect.
