I mean, I guess I'm not surprised. This already happened with X-Men 3. Vaughn was set to direct X-Men 3 before bailing at the last second. Ratner was brought in only 2 weeks before filming began (and 8 months before the movie released). Hopefully Singer takes the job. He's been involved with the movie since the beginning. And it keeps another director from being vilified like Ratner was with X-Men 3 (I think X-Men 3 is a poor film, but I think Ratner was put in an extremely unfair situation). That’s a bummer. He has also said on more than a few occasions that he thinks Bryan Singer brings a "gay agenda" to his movies. Combine those two things and if Singer does become the director, I can only imagine what new rant John will go on.
