Also could be Norman Osborn .. now obsessed with the realization with the ideal spider-man is better then him so now he wants to take his mantle away..

If they wanted to have Peter and MJ split it would have been very easy to do and not change 30 odd years of canon with oh here is what really happened at this point and here is what happened at this point.

What I would have loved to have seen is that Aunt May ended up dying and Peter just snaps and goes back and kills the Kingpin. MJ cant handle the fact that Peter killed out of rage and they separate. Now Peter/Spider-Man is on the run as he has just killed someone in cold blood. You can still have Doc Strange do his magic to make people forget that he is Spider-Man and that he killed Kingpin but have it happen kind of the way that “Brand New Day” happened and have it that MJ still knows the truth and you can still do every story that was done after the whole Mephisto thing and not alter the history.

Also I just read isue #897 and want to know why Peter/Spider-Man’s spider scenes did not kick in when he was walking into see Doc-Ock?

Why the **** do you WANT Miles to be the new Spider-Man? Isn’t him replacing Peter on the Ultimate universe ENOUGH for you?

MJ realized that Mephisto’s deal to save Aunt May was really aimed at her, since Mephisto knew that Peter would never contemplate it unless MJ was on board. So Mephisto basically tricked MJ into “making the deal” by having her give Peter permission to erase their marriage from existence, by pitching it as Mephisto making a deal with Peter.

MJ realizes what Mephisto did and extracted her “payment” from Mephisto, in the form of a vow that if he EVER came near Peter again, if he EVER made contact with Peter in any shape or way or form or got involved in Peter’s life, that Mephisto’s deal with the Parkers would be null and void and he would have to restore reality back to normal and restore their marriage.

Yeah, I don’t belive for a second it is Miguel. It was never officially released as Miguel O’Hara. I mean ifit is, then whatever. But if Dan is so worried about not spoiling it, he wouldnt let that slip. I PROMISE! Maybe they introduce O’Hara somehow, but I don’t think he will be THE “SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN”.

My thoughts are still open, and I still have O’Hara on my list. But I’m leaning a different direction..

5. Ben Reilly-(Wildcard) A lot of talk from Kaine about Ben in Scarlet Spider. Plus the Ben Reilly Epic trade that came out.

4/3. Alpha/or a Alpha Clone (What else was Alpha for, seriously) – He happened, and ended. Pete said something like “Maybe we will try this again, with a mask, and not as Alpha”. Or one of the clones that Jackel created got away.

2. Miguel O’Hara-( Most obvious) Claws, claws.. and.. claws! Slott has been tweeting about “Miguel” but like i said, it seems almost TOO obvious. Another nugget would be that Slott loves Dr.Who, so maybe they are leaning toward time travel.

1. Miles Morales-(Mainly what I really want to happen) The end of Spider-Men #5 where Pete’s back in 616 and looks up Miles Morales ..What did he find! Annnd the black costume.. Spider-Men was brilliant, and I can def. get into where that left of. There is also the frames in Spider-Man year one where he saves a random black kid who has “MORALES” on his jacket. Which was when Peter was younger, so now that years have gone by, Miles may be older. He may be someone Pete knows, or someone that changed their name MILES Warren, MILES O’hara/Miguel MORALES, etc (reason for Pete;s reaction in Spider-Men 5). Off comic continuity, they are also teasing Morales in the Ultimate Spidey show on XD. He was in episode 21 as an older Miles.

Maybe it’s a whole new character, but speculation is fun. I would not count on Slott spoiling his baby.

Ben Riley seems likely since they just let out that Ben Riley trade out of no where. In Scarlet Kain has brought up Ben recently.

My two wildcards are Miles, and Alpha.
In Spider-Men 5, Peter looks up Miles in thr 616, and is shocked at what he finds. But they do not elaborate.. Could he maybe search for 616 Miles and convince him to be spidey? The black costumes????

Alpha was a big event, that just dropped…
I remember Pete saying to Alpha something like, ‘there will be another time when we need you, but with a mask’ or something like that.

I am pretty pumped about it to say the least..

OR… Peter could have been BEN all this time since the whole Mephisto thing. We never really DID find out what MJ’s deal with Mephisto was…

They do. Then no one buys their books, they get cancelled, and the characters fall into obscurity. See: Runaways, Gravity, etc. People only REALLY buy the big stuff. The Spider-X-Avengers stuff. They let everything else sit on the shelf.

I would love to see a new person in the Spidey suit….wait, we have that in the Ultimate Universe. Why the need to put a new person in the suit in 616? Just make new heroes, Marvel.

I thought the Ultimate Spider-man was Miles Morales. Who are you thinking of?
