I would buy the Grant Morrison Jughead. I’m not a huge fan of Morrison’s stories but that one I’d buy.

Jughead has a metabolism. It is just super fast. With that said, there are scenes where Jughead is fat. In one Mr. Weatherbee story, Jughead is shown as fat and stuffed as he and Ms. Grundy are heading back to their offices. In another, a witch put a hex on Jughead which kills his metabolism and makes him super fat.

Aside from that, the only real changes they will have for the character is that he likely gains another guy-girlfriend in Midge while solidifying his relationship with the Wilkin family.

Maybe they’ll actually give Jughead a metabolism so he can be obese from all the hamburgers? Maybe he’ll join the military and become ‘Jarhead’?

go the opposite direction and have the new series open with him either entering or leaving drug rehab. or that might be the same direction. it’s definitely a direction.
