Brubaker Off, Latour On WINTER SOLDIER From February

Ryan Penagos – AKA Marvel.com’s AgentM – is live-tweeting and live-blogging news from FanExpo Canada today, including the news that Jason Latour is taking over The Winter Soldier in February next year from series creator Ed Brubaker. Sad news, given that Brubaker seemed to be happy to stay with that book for the long haul during interviews discussing his leaving Captain America, but perhaps not unsurprising.

I am done with marvel.DC is very close behind.

….and with that, I am off the book. Brubaker had really captured this wonderful “Super Villain Team-UP” vibe on the book, and was clearly having the time of his life. Best compliment I can pay is that it made a book about a character I have zero interest in be one of my must reads every month.

But I guess it is about the property, and EB is too expensive to ‘waste’ on a third-tier book.

    Sad.

So, Brubaker is 100% off of Marvel books? What’s he doing next? Is he going the BKV/Kirkman route, or are we gonna hear an announcement soon that he’s going DC exclusive?
