You have got to be joking. The problem was he was writing 616 Cap as Ultimate Cap and they are completely different animals.

Maybe they’ll put him on Wolverine next. Seems like a book he would do well with.

Apparently, Graeme McMillan has forgotten the stellar ’90s runs (especially the first one) Mark Waid had on the book, which received a lot of press at the time? Not to mention Dan Jurgens excellent late ’90s-early 2000s run. Two of my very favorite runs of Cap ever! And let’s not forget the late, great Mark Gruenwald, who put in a lot of time and his usual quality on this fine character as well.

As for Ed Brubaker, I’m sad to hear he’s leaving, but I give him credit for stepping away from the title, possibly overstaying his welcome for the good of the character.

And what the heck is a Cullen Bunn, anyway?:P

What did the new costume look like? Was it close to the Avengers movie? Did they get rid of the pirate boots (fingers crossed) anyone have links to the new costume because I would love to see it

I agree. I thought some of this stories ran kind of long. I wish they would bring Ron Lim back to the book to do another Cap run.

Never warmed to Brubaker’s ensemble book sometimes starring Captain America but Bunn won’t tempt me back. That Fear Itself spin off and something Wolverine I sampled have me thinking I’d rather wait a few years until Bunn grows more as a writer before chancing his stuff again…

I’m guessing Cullen Bunn is gonna take the title over. He’s the only one who’s shared writing duties on it (or at least he’s cowritten with Brubaker before), I think. And I wish Patrick Zircher would return and stay as artist.

Just got back from HeroesCon and from what I heard Brubaker leaving Cap times nicely with him getting a new costume (which was showed around), joining the Uncanny Avengers (with Wolverine), and Marvel’s new ReEvolution program they’ll be announcing this week. Whatever it is, I’m excited for Marvel.

It’ll be interesting to see how Marvel tries to sych Cap up with the cinematic Marvel Universe version in a post-Avengers movie world.

Bru had a great run though. And Fatale has been great.

Brubaker’s Captain America run is what really got me into superhero comics, so this is bad news for me. On the upside it sounds like this means more creator-owned work from my favourite writer, so it’s hard to be too upset.
