Okay, I’ll admit it: I’m impressed and surprised that not only is “Green Lantern” trending on Twitter right now in the wake of the “Yes, he’s gay” news, but so is “Alan Scott”:
Whoever once thought that we’d live in a world where Alan Scott would be one of the most popular topics in American social media, I salute your optimism and stubborness. Your day has come.
Also, I genuinely hope this raises the profile of Earth 2. I really enjoyed the first issue.

I wonder about what will happen to Obsidian in tbe nuDC

I would say he is completely gone since in his Newsarama interview James Robinson said that it was the loss of Obsidian that gave him the idea of turning Alan Scott gay.

Considering some of the other trending topics you see on Twitter on a daily basis, I’m not sure it’s quite the achievement it used to be.
For example, as of 6:30p Eastern on June 1st, the current #1 trending topic in the US is… #ReplaceMovieTitleWithVagina.
Mercy.

Why would Graeme blur out the other titles in the list? Dumb.

Probably so we wouldn’t have to read things like #ReplaceMovieTitleWithVagina.

Are homosexuals THAT powerful that DC and James Robinson felt the need to make Alan Scott one of that group? Diversity is one thing but this smacks of something else entirely. I don’t mind homosexual comic characters for I work with some real life females and males that are homosexual and the ones that I know are funny, friendly, crazy, human people as much as the heterosexuals. DC isn’t creative or clever enough to have created a totally new and exciting character that was simply homosexual from fresh cloth, as it were? I’m trying to say with all of this is: why not just have the character who was homosexual instead of the Homosexual character [that will "shock" you once you know their identity]?
