Actually, I don't think this is quite that much of a screw up more then some kind of necessity.

We know the story that Jenkins and Finch have been telling since issue #1 ends with 7. We also know Jenkins is off the book as of essentially #9 with Winnick writing the Owls tie in and the new writer Gregg Hurwitz starting with issue #10.

Jenkins or DC, probably didn't see the need for them to write anything for issue #8, especially if originally it was the beginning of a new are or prelude to another story, and why bother doing it if you're off the book?

And in turn, that really can give Finch some breathing space to continue running smoothly from 9 on.

I'm amazed Finch has made it this far on a monthly schedule. Frankly, this was THE WORST comic of the New 52, and having a replacement creative team, even for just a single issue, makes me want to buy that one issue.

Benes actually draws a decent Batman and can make a monthly schedule. I'd like to see him move to this book after his stint on 'Tec. Along with a new writer. Seriously, when Tony Daniels is writing a better Batman comic that you, it's time to go back to college and find a new profession. Giving this book to Rob Leifeld would be a lateral move at worst.
