There's no sense in letting Diamond have a piece of the digital pie, as well.

Hmmm. IDW is on that list, and their books tend to cost $4. To get them at half off is a bit tempting.

Barry - none of this HAS to be done at a brick and mortar shop. Retailers can sell products digitally on their websites using our Plug N Play site, or our more advanced API. With the API they can even sell you the Print and digital book at the same time, giving you the Plus version instantly to read on their website or in the Digital Comics Reader App.

Graeme,

Just wanted to drop a note in here about the pricing. I'm not sure where ICv2 got that information, but we've never said the pricing for digital books is $1.99 -- mainly because it won't be. :)

Pricing for the digital Day and Date books will be the same as you're currently seeing in the industry -- there is an addition that helps with price, though -- with our PLUS versions, you can buy the digital comic at a discounted rate if you're buying it along with the print version at the same time. In many cases the PLUS version is only $0.99 and will include digital incentives like video special features, scripts, sketches, and so forth.

...except that, unless I'm reading that incorrectly, that pricing is only available if you buy digital comics at a brick-and-mortar comic shop. Which completely defeats one of the main purposes of digital.
