Regardless of how anyone personally feels about the movies it doesn't make any sense to say Fox is killing the franchise. Fox has put out five X-Men films and each one has been a financial success.

Hadn't thought about the '70s, but that would be a great way to bring in Dazzler in her original costume! LOL!

Remember PhoenixRules, they don't kill the franchise until the third installment. Then it'll rise from the ashes again like your namesake to restart the cycle of good, great, crap.

PhoenixRules are you sereious? Fox has done an excellent job with the franchise and have made millions of millions of dollars. There was only one film in the five I didnt like and that is to be expected with Brett Ratner directing a film.

I prefer the cinema X-Men over anything currently being made about the X-Men.

So I guess the big question is will Vaughn continue to tie the series into "historic" events as he jumps forward decade by decade and if so what will they be? What event in the 70's could serve as both a challenge and a metaphor as perfectly as the Cuban Missile Crisis in his first film? Although it will be fun to see the X-Men in the decade of excess . . . Disco mutants here we come!

Please, please Fox, please return the film right back to Marvel and just settle for a cut of the profit because you're killing the X-Men franchise!

As long as they get a significant part of the cast back, I'll be happy. Most of the X-Men used were eclectic and interesting. There could be more interesting Brotherhood members, though... and the Emma Frost actress should be replaced. Hers was the only performance I found lacking.
