In the tradition of Erica Durance appearing in a Wonder Woman costume on an episode of Harry’s Law earlier this month, here we present, apropos of mostly nothing, supermodel Miranda Kerr appearing in a Wonder Woman costume on the cover of Grazia in her home county of Australia, and wearing shoes definitely not suitable for fighting crime:
According to the accompanying text, it’s not just an excuse to put a Victoria’s Secret model into a one-piece, it’s thematically appropriate, too. “We’re taking a risk – because Wonder Woman is a globally recognised icon and not just anyone could pull it off,” said Grazia fashion director Thelma McQuillan (the anglicized spelling hers, not ours). “But Miranda is an Australian icon herself. She’s the star who, time and time again, our readers say they most admire; a businesswoman, a wife, a mum. She is our wonder woman. And she has the presence to pull this recreation off.”
Besides, Kerr has a good amount of geek culture cred her own self — she’s married to Orlando “Legolas” Bloom, who’s reprising that role in this December’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

She doesn’t exactly project “Amazon” to me.
Just saying…..

I’m Australian and this was all over the TV a couple of days ago. The irony of the situation is that Miranda is dressed as an American icon in a photo shoot that is meant to be celebrating Australia Day, our national day.

I like that it’s meant to be a patriotic picture for Australia while she’s dressed as an American icon. But what the hell, she fills the outfit out very nicely. Orlando Bloom is one lucky motherfucker.

What happen? Aren’t there any Australian Superheroines she could drees up? Ohhhhhhh….
I know, there’s Lifeguard from the X-men, but that’s a very unknown character compared with WW!

The costume’s not even that good.

Feels more like a celebration of Miranda Kerr looking great , than having found a good real life wonder woman

She needs to be fed…

Wonder Woman may be an american comic book creation, but Wonder Woman herself is Themyscarian

Well Batman’s English, Superman is english, I suppose Wonder Woman can be an Aussie, I mean, Wolverine is also.
January 26th, 2012 at 3:18 pm
I’d like to Wonder her Woman!
January 27th, 2012 at 9:35 am
She may not be Amazon quality, but she is still smoking hot, and Orlando Bloom is one lucky son of a gun!!
January 27th, 2012 at 10:33 pm
I sure would like to introduce her to “Man’s World”…
She should have dressed up as Barbie. Australians love Barbie, right? And shrimp.

I wonder why they didn’t go the full hog and give her boots. It’s like the costume designer got bored and decided not to design the boots.
January 28th, 2012 at 6:37 pm
Looks like a cheap Halloween costume with totally inappropriate shoes.
January 28th, 2012 at 6:41 pm
Meh.
January 28th, 2012 at 6:41 pm

Do a quick Internet search for Gaby Ramirez and Wonder Woman, that’s some gratuitous…

If there really was a Themyscira, it would be populated by fat-arsed Abos.
Sure, they should make a Wonder Woman movie–but not to promote feminism or whatever. Instead, the villain should make WW submit to his will, until she is completely degraded. (That would be pretty faithful to the old comics.) And who wouldn’t pay to see WW raped by Capt. Nazi or Gorilla Grodd?
