On Thursday, TV Guide debuted two new photos of Erica Durance — Smallville‘s Lois Lane — dressed in a Wonder Woman costume on the Jan. 11 episode of NBC legal series Harry’s Law.
That alone would be worth at least a modicum of fannish interest, but when you consider the added wrinkle that David E. Kelley — he of the doomed NBC Wonder Woman pilot that became a mild national nightmare in the spring of 2011 — is also behind Harry’s Law, and it becomes a full-on, C&C Music Factory-esque thing that makes you go hmm. And, as you can see from the photo below, it happens to be pretty much the exact same costume as Adrianne Palicki wore in the mostly-never seen pilot:
No matter what you think of these photos, though, they still don’t highlight the main reason to watch Harry’s Law: prolific character actor Christopher McDonald, better known as Happy Gilmore’s Shooter McGavin.

As long as this doesn’t mean that we’re going to have some kind of weird Lois Lane as Wonder Woman story going on…I’m all for it. But if they were to have some kind of crossover with some of the Smallville cast, that may get confusing. Just saying.

There’s your Wonder Woman! They should do a television series similar to Smallville in which a pre-Wonder Woman Diana would leave Paradise Island to learn what it is to be human. They could call it “Paradise Lost.” It couldn’t be any worse than the pilot which was rejected.

I’m disgusted by this for so many reasons. Smallville left a terrible taste in my mouth for so many reasons, the very idea of Smallville’s “Lois Lane” wearing a Wonder Woman costume that belongs to another character feels so disrespectful to me it makes me sick!!

Ivan’s “Paradise Lost” idea sounds pretty good to me. Durance looks as if she can hardly breathe in that outfit. Good for looks, poor for comfort, I’m pretty sure.

Now, following a second look, I’d go so far as to say she looks quite “hot” in the WW attire.

To be honest, I can’t see Erica as Wonder Woman. Erica is beautiful, but she comes across as the sweet girl next door type while Wonder Woman, to my mind, is beautiful but beautiful in the same way as a storm is.
She’s a force of nature, beautiful and terrible. She’s a DC hero who’d kill without compunction if she deems it necessary That, in my view, is why the series was destined to fail. Wonder Woman doesn’t have gal-pals and romantic problems. Her internal debates aren’t “does he like me?” they’re more “how much collateral damage can I tolerate while bringing this enemy down?” In many ways her gender is an irrelevancy and her dialogue should be only marginally less dark than Batman.
Sorry, waxing lyrical on Wonder Woman.
Short answer, Erica is hot, but she’s not Wonder Woman.

Yea I “fanboy rampaged” but I don’t care. I hate seeing Smallville’s “Lois” wearing a Wonder Woman suit that was made for someone else. Erica isn’t ugly by any definition, but I can’t help but see “Lois” when I look at her, and F**K Smallville!

Durance is a pretty girl but she lacks the majesty and exotic quality that is Wonder Woman. Diana does not look like some normal girl going to a Halloween costume and this is what this looks like. The girl from the OC, Rachel Bison, looked better by far than Durance in the WW costume.
So I pretty much don’t think this is anything to even get excited about. Durance may want to desperately play WW but WW she ain’t.

First off I like the new Wonder Woman Outfit and I think it suits Erica Durance. I Think Erica would make a fine Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.

I can see Erica Durance in the role, but only after some serious time in the gym. Diana is an athlete, and a warrior. Her portrayer needs to be in shape, not just a pretty face.

Such a tacky outfit and no Miss Durance cannot pull off WW. Fitting into a tight costume does not make you WW. She can pull of a fan wearing some costume. She joins another long list of wannabes. If they do get WW on the big screen, thankfully it will not be her playing the amazon princess. WW needs to take your breathe away and look like royalty with a hint of the exotic. Get a woman that looks a bit like Chiang’s WW and you’ll have her.
