Wait, the 13th? Does that mean that we’re officially into the twelve days countdown to Christmas? I’d better make this a good choice of yuletide cheer-giving comic cover, in that case…
Like, ginchy, man. This comic – Teen Titans #13, with story by Bob Haney and art – including this cover – by the spectacular Nick Cardy – may well be one of the greatest Christmas comics ever created. Not only is it ahead of its time in the shameless cultural magpie stealing of Dickens’ original A Christmas Carol, but it’s so hilariously dated and off-key with its attempts to seem “hep” to “the kids” that it transcends taste and quality to become something truly amazing, a comic that mixes affection and embarrassment with such skill that it evokes every single family visit you’ve ever had in your life at the same time. Seriously, I can’t tell you how much I love this comic.

Man, that’s so cool! I love holidays because all of the presents. I have a little nephew and this post gave me a good idea about what present I’m going to buy for him! Have a merry christmas, ho ho ho!

Well, there’s nothing like a little bit of Titan bondage to lift your spirits!
