We’re going a little international with today’s offering, but I think you’ll find the cover star more than a little familiar. He is, as the song goes, a real famous cat all dressed up in red. And, no, I don’t mean Captain Marvel.
No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you; that isn’t in English. Instead, it’s the Spanish edition of Mike Ploog’s absolutely beautiful adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, originally released by Tundra (Remember them?) way back in 1992. Try as I might, I couldn’t find a large enough version of the original cover (which you can see here, complete with lovely typography from Todd Klein), but I think you’d agree that Ploog’s version of Ol’ Saint Nick deserved to be included in this seasonal countdown.
