I hadn’t thought about it, but we really are in an age of trying to make the reader forget that there’s ink on the comic book page, even to the point of coloring directly over the pencils!

There’s a place for that, I guess. My preferences lean toward the more “comic booky” bold black ink lines. I hadn’t thought of the commonality before, but I guess that’s why the three artists you mentioned are all current favorites of mine.
