SPOILERS AHEAD FOR JSA—-if you haven’t read the current and last issue of the Justice Society of America yet, don’t continue here before doing so——-SPOILERS AHEAD CONTINUE AT YOUR OWN RISK—-you have been forewarned.

Even though Alan Scott was killed at the end of the last issue of the JSA, I’m not upset yet because I hope that he will return, young, vital and in his normal costume in the Earth 2 comic or stories that are being readied for the DCnU. I take my hopes for his continued existence with the news of the return, eventually it seems, of SPOILER WARNING========if you haven’t read Justice League, do so before continuing here———-SPOILERS AHEAD CONTINUE AT OUR OWN RISK———-you have been forewarned.

I don’t know about you but I’m tired of Darkseid, I thought they were giving him some down time before hitting us over the head with his grand plans. They couldn’t wait apparently but the only good thing I take from that is Alan Scott must be coming back as well, or rather, I’m hoping he does. He’s my favorite Green Lantern so I’m looking forward to the return of Alan and the JSA in the Earth 2 comic book that I’m hoping for.

Flashpoint #5 doesn’t make sense in any logical way, but I accept it because the future looks to be quite exciting.

Barry somehow went back in time to stop himself going back in time (don’t think about it), and a mysterious red and blue woman with glowing eyes took advantage of this to merge the DCU, Vertigo and Wildstorm into one timeline.

The multiverse and timestream are 2 separate concepts like space and time. The other Earths are not just other possiblities but are universes vibrating at a different frequency. Timelines can be altered on 1 earth and just affecting that 1 Earth. However, new Earth is the Keystone Earth and it affects all others. That’s the reason for the JSA Earth-2 that’ll show up and the reason that the Crime Syndicate always matched up to the JLA no matter the roster.

None of those happened pre-COIE, and none were written by an architect of the new DCU, so I’m going to bet that they won’t be canon going forward.

Like the time Shade ran a hotel for the weird with his girlfriend and her girlfriend? Or when Animal Man was the head of a cult? And the time when the Doom Patrol’s chief was just a head on an ice tray? Because all of those could be awesome.

And where does this leave the other 51 Earths?

Presumably, Earth-16, home of the Young Justice cartoon, is intact. Which means that there is one timeline where the concept of the legacy hero is alive and well.
