Joss Whedon’s The Avengers is still busy filming in Cleveland and as expected, more footage and images have surfaced. These feature stars Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans in action.
The picture comes once again from ComicBookMovie.com and shows Thor and Captain America not only in their costumes but in a dirty fight. (The site has several other shots posted, some more spoiler-y than others.) Thor’s costume looks roughly the same from the one he wore in his solo film but the biggest complaint about Captain America’s new costume in the first image we showed you from the set was the characters helmet. Interesting that it’s not on during the fight, when he’d need it the most. Of course, he does look pretty roughed up so it could have flown off at some point.
The video, via the Huffington Post, is basically the images in motion. I won’t say too much but it’s a fight scene with villains so watch at your own risk. (There’s also an aerial view of another take on their website.)
What do you think of the footage (if you watched)? And what do you think of footage from The Avengers as well as several videos from the set of The Dark Knight Rises surfacing online like this so far away from the release date of both films?
The Avengers, starring Hemsworth, Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlet Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo and more hits theaters May of 2012.

it´s kinda strange having all those videos and pic appear for the two greatest superhero films since the dawn of effing time but the leaks from whedons set make me feel comfortable with my waiting time.
it looks good, and I can´t wait for the CGI to happen and to see it all together, polished and whedonified
AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!

I enjoy seeing the pics, but videos like this sometimes take the magic out of a scene. Like how lame the fight scene looks from this angle, without all the bells and whistles.
Also, Hemsworth and Evans are going to be an odd screen pair. I’m as excited to see this movie as anyone else, but I think the biggest joy will be seeing Downey Jr interacting with everyone else… without that, it’s just an odd and slightly random team of heroes who might be mismatched.

Why does Cap’s costume look more like Patriots from Young Avengers?
August 20th, 2011 at 5:57 am
I am Geeeking out! this movie is going to be so cool!
August 20th, 2011 at 6:33 am
I like how in 0:22. that prop guy is just twirling Thor’s hammer around like it’s nothing. hehehe.
August 20th, 2011 at 6:41 am
That’s awesome. It’s amazing that they are making this movie.
It looks like they are just rehearsing here.
Can’t wait for this to hit theaters.

Cool pics but it annoys me that the characters masks…or in this case, helmets, always conveniently seem to go missing or get blown off or whatever so that we can see the actors emote the scene. This happened in all three Maguire Spider-Man movies. Drove me nuts. I don’t want to watch you work the scene you intend for your Academy montage, I just wanna see some super-hero ass kicking action!
August 20th, 2011 at 9:46 am
I wouldn’t say there are too many spoilers, as the “villains” are all wearing mo-cap suits, so there’s no telling what they’ll look like once all is said and done.
That said, seeing Cap and Thor fighting back to back is already a little thrilling…

The Captain America COSTUME is D O P E Y, and C H E E S E.
Constructively, let me just say the the producers of this movie need to add a scene where Evans should say something like “How do you people in the 21st Century put it? Im going ‘old school’ on this?” -and have Captain America wear the AWSOME UNIFORM =not a gay costume=, that he wore in th CAPTAIN AMERICA MOVIE. Jeeze… Marvel/Disney please wake up before you turn this from a global franchise and into a fad. The look of Cap America was RIGHT ON in the Captain America MOVIE.
Zippers on the thighs -its gayness in action, frivilous cheese that ONCE AGAIN, turns the words “Super Hero” into something someone would rather hide their interest in this genre that let people know they like comic book reading. The ‘bulb-ous’ head of Evans is retard and the metal strip on his shoulds…. ***ABONDONDED COMIC BOOK READERS RETURNED TO THE AVENGERS because of the take that writer Millar and ARTIST BRYAN HITCH took on Captain America and the Avengers in their “ULTIMATES” story.
Check out the interview with artist Hitch in the animated DVD Special Features for the Avengers2. Their take on the “Super-hero” is a practial and useful look of the persons cloths as a uniform, THE BELT, BOOTS, the -start in the circle on the shouulder …- KEEP THE Captain America MOVIE UNIFORM P L E A S E. He can always just go back to it.

Cool! Didn’t realize the costumes afford the Chrises such freedom of movements.
It looks like there is great cameraderie between the two actors! Wouldn’t it be totally HOT if they were lovers in real life?? Hot damn!

AAB….u mad bro? whine much?
August 20th, 2011 at 12:18 pm
In RESPONSE to the user question from account name ‘TOILETRIS’:
Please provide reasoning as to why you would interpret ‘mad’ or ‘whine’ out of my statements.
Just in case, I used captial letters so that particular parts of my remarks would stand out for someone that is scrolling down the window would notice my entry over the slew of listings on blogs and such.
Thanks for the question, I appreciate it. If I was mad I would had included exclamation marks, also. I also think its significant that if someone has criticism that it be constructive, so that is why I added examples and references to support my opions. MY VERNACULAR may not be common, especially my humor in how I exress myself, but I mean what I say… yo.
PEACE OUT.

The thing I hate most about super hero movies is that they always have to come up with excuses for the characters to take their masks/helmets off… The Spider-man movies were notorious for doing this! Keep the masks on!

@turkish101 – I actually think Thor/Cap make the most sense. Cap is from the 1940′s and Thor is from a different realm of existence. Most everything about modern times in America are completely foreign to both if them. Imagine Iron Man with Cap:
Iron Man: “Hey Steve, it says on Wikipedia that you’re from Brooklyn.”
Cap: “Huh? Wiki-what?”
Iron Man: “You know, on the internet.”
Cap: “That thing on your computation machine?”
Iron Man: “Oh, forget it. I’m gonna have a drink.”
That’s how every conversation would go.
August 20th, 2011 at 3:18 pm
So cool! Not to nit pick but has chris Evans stopped dying his hair blond for the role and now cap has brown hair?
August 21st, 2011 at 7:28 am
Guys, Chris Evans costume is sleeker to allow him more free range of movement. This is no different than what Nolan did with Batman’s uniform. And no, his costume doesn’t look like Patriot’s. Patriot’s didn’t have all of the silver on his costume, and his costume was more similar to Bucky’s.

At the end of every scene there is a guy who is running with a fire extinguisher around.
I wonder if he will be in final movie: “Don’t worry, I’m from S.H.I.E.L.D., everything is under control!”
August 21st, 2011 at 9:39 am
Cool that the villains have a Sierpinski triangle design all over their outfits. Is there any villain group known for loving odd but interesting geometries?
August 21st, 2011 at 1:53 pm
Frickin’ cool. I’m officially excited. Big fight scenes like this will bring the spirit of the comic to life for me!
August 21st, 2011 at 4:36 pm
ohhh do ya think it might be the Wrecking Crew?! I know one guy had a gun but the other ones looked like maybe swinging crowbars and flails around??
August 22nd, 2011 at 8:40 am
Even from the Thor movie, I never liked Thor’s uniform below his belt. He looks like he’s wearing leather pants. It does not match up with his armor or anything else he’s wearing. I was hoping that they change it when coming over to the Avengers, but it seems not. With this pic, it stands out even more. It just look damn cheesy! Am I the only one thinking this?
August 22nd, 2011 at 10:58 am
Nope doesnt look cheesy to me. Looks like a movie mid-production. And damn good to boot. This is a hell of a good time to be a geek or fanboy or whatever the hell folks like me(comic fans) are call this week.i could care less. I am having a bloody ball. Thank u comic gods. or u know..whatever.
August 30th, 2011 at 3:21 pm
The main reason for Thor not having helmet is thanks to movies like Twilight…Didn’t the Thor movie kinda felt like a chick-flick? Besides pretty face boy C. H. wouldn’t have anything cover his face, which kind of looks stupid using Thor costume without helmet. If they wanted to go full Ultimate Thor look would have been better then, but combining both looks, not good.
August 30th, 2011 at 3:44 pm
Re-Man: I didn’t like Thor’s costume much either. I saw on the sneak peeks that at one point he didn’t have the sleeves cover his arms and it looked much better. He should go sleeveless more like Ultimate Thor since obviously that’s the look they are searching for.
