The first trailer for the Nicolas Cage-starred, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor-directed sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is now online, and, well, it’s definitely worth a view for the last clip alone.
Here it is, prefaced by a short introduction from Neveldine and Taylor:
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is scheduled to hit theaters on February 17, 2012.

Can’t say I’m really anxious to see it, but it sure does look better than the first one. Or, more likely, it’s just a better trailer.

?????….is he pissing flames????? LOL!!!
August 19th, 2011 at 11:14 am
Did…did he just…did he just piss FIRE?!?!?! Oh man thats worth it right there. I not gonna bash this flick yet. Got a long ways to go before release. But it does look good. The first on was no anywhere near as bad as people said. No, it was not good, nor was it that bad. I love the look of this one already.
August 19th, 2011 at 11:17 am
This one looks a lot more fun.
August 19th, 2011 at 11:26 am
Pass. It looks worse that the first one.
August 19th, 2011 at 12:03 pm
COOL… euh HOT, SMOKING HOT!
August 19th, 2011 at 12:04 pm
Hmm … It seems Marvel Studios do not have much respect for their supernatural characters as opposed to their mainline superheroes. When you compare the cast and crew of Man-Thing and Ghost Rider with Iron Man and Thor one sees a significant difference in quality and acting.
Maybe they should consider hiring horror directors for any future horror properties. It would be a step in the right direction.
August 19th, 2011 at 12:18 pm
It looks like is going quite an improvement from the last one, am glad they decided to go ahead with a sequel and not doing a reboot, am tired of those
August 19th, 2011 at 12:26 pm
I had that. It looks bad, but a little penicillin will clear it right up.
August 19th, 2011 at 1:28 pm
Well it is too soon to comment on it might have potential better than the first , lets see when it comes out they do not killed it, because having to restart will suck, and all that budget for this coming 2ghost rider will put to waste. By the way I like the casting i always think Nicolas Cage its a great actor.
August 19th, 2011 at 2:15 pm
I miss being able to comment on every article.
August 19th, 2011 at 3:02 pm
How does Cage keep getting work?
August 19th, 2011 at 4:37 pm
I hate Hollywood. Please stop.
August 19th, 2011 at 5:33 pm
Can’t say I love the idea of another Cage Ghost Rider movie, but I’ll probably watch it at some point.
August 19th, 2011 at 5:47 pm
Looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
very excited.
August 19th, 2011 at 6:27 pm
He pisses fires. That’s worth watching alone. Love how they are doing this justice compared to the first one.

“It seems Marvel Studios do not have much respect for their supernatural characters as opposed to their mainline superheroes”
This is not Marvel Studios. Marvel sold the rights to Ghost Rider to Sony/Columbia Pictures before Marvel Studios was formed. Sony is only making this film (and another Spider-Man) to keep the rights for as long as possible, since Marvel won’t be selling the rights to any other characters.
It’s why Fox made another X-Men, why they want to make another Wolverine. It’s also why you hear about Fox wanting to reboot Fantastic Four and Daredevil, since they have the rights to those characters.
August 19th, 2011 at 7:22 pm
Ah, I didn’t know Ghost Rider wasn’t part of Marvel Studios. Although, I do know Man-Thing is but then again who cares about Man-Thing anyway.
August 19th, 2011 at 7:54 pm
@ Arlecchino
How does Nic Cage keep getting movie roles? His family (The Coppola’s) are one of the most respected families in Hollywood, that’s how!
That and I hear, he is a really fun guy to work with. Say what you want about him, but if people like working with him, he is going to keep getting work.

“Ah, I didn’t know Ghost Rider wasn’t part of Marvel Studios. Although, I do know Man-Thing is but then again who cares about Man-Thing anyway.”
Dude, Man-Thing (2005) was produced by Lion Gate Films, not Marvel Studios. You haven’t mentioned anything right, man. Perhaps you should keep your opinion to yourself prior to doing some fact check.
August 20th, 2011 at 8:07 am
I love the first one, this one looks darker and more fun
August 20th, 2011 at 4:56 pm
I care about MAN-THING!!! :0
August 20th, 2011 at 5:18 pm
Meh.
I still stand by my statement that Marvel cares more about their mainline superheroes regardless of whether or not Man-Thing, or Ghost Rider was produced by different studios. If they cared at all they would never have licensed them out, or at least tried to recover those properties so they can make good movie for themselves. Maybe they’ll do wonders with Dr Strange.
@Boo-If I have an opinion to state I will state it even if I didn’t properly check my facts. They’re called ‘oopsies’. Luckily, the internet is filled with enough OCD types who like to correct said mistakes. *rolls eyes*
August 21st, 2011 at 2:52 am
M: Marvel licensed those characters out because at the time, Marvel Studios didn’t exist. And they can’t just try to recover those properties because the contracts ensure that as long as those studios exercise the licenses by creating more films, the rights remain with them.
August 21st, 2011 at 4:58 am
Yeah, I know that.
But I highly doubt a property like Man-Thing would be difficult to reacquire considering its lack of financial success and nonexistent sequel. Ghost Rider I can understand. However, Marvel/Disney would surely have the funds to get the least most desirable license (Man-Thing) back whether they would have to pay a penalty or not. They were able to get Hulk back. Now, whether that was due to a buy-out or a lapsed license, I don’t know.
My initial point was that it appears that Marvel’s horror characters tend to get the short shrift as evidenced by the output in both film and comics. I get that tights sell and the horror genre is usually looked down upon. I’m just stating that I would like to see a greater emphasis on Marvel’s horror characters in any medium especially in terms of quality.
August 21st, 2011 at 5:34 am
I doubt Marvel Studios would do a good job with gritty characters like Ghost Rider. Look at how they botched the Punsher reboot. Now that Disney owns Marvel, the likely chance that a good R-Rated film with the necessary blood, gore and possible hot hot nudity to do their Horror characters justice seems highly unlikely.
Disney is all about the kiddies and not about blood soaked titties.

Avengers XXX for 2013! In a surprise move Disney/Marvel creates an Adult Entertainment division!
August 21st, 2011 at 8:01 am
Nic Cage is a great actor, he’s a perfect fit for Johnny Blaze. With the directors of Crank, I pray this film will get people going to it in droves. GR needs this, and I loved the first film btw.
August 21st, 2011 at 12:55 pm
Keith, Marvel Studios did not do the Punisher reboot. Everyone is full of misinformation.
August 21st, 2011 at 3:43 pm
@Dude
Punisher: War Zone was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Lionsgate. It is you who are misinformed, sir.

bwahahaha
yes i am 12 years old and have nothing to do
August 22nd, 2011 at 3:12 am
Actually, no, they did NOT produce it in the way that they have the current string of movies thus:

August 22nd, 2011 at 3:14 am
“Like the Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, Blade, and Daredevil films, Lionsgates’ Punisher movies were made outside of the control of Marvel proper. (As was, of course, the infamous Roger Corman-produced, Dolph Lundgren-starring version from 1989.)”

So maybe you guys should do a little more research than merely browsing IMDB and Wikipedia (these are never credible sources as they can be edited by anyone) before you start spreading more horseshit.
August 22nd, 2011 at 7:20 am
I love that – on the heels of that trailer – a p*ssing match starts up…
That no one cares about except the participants.
August 22nd, 2011 at 9:35 am
MARVEL studios didn’t make this…so yeah.
August 22nd, 2011 at 11:07 am
I don’t understand why it matters so much if Marvel Studios is involved in the making of a movie. X-Men: First Class, Spider-Man 1 & 2, X-2, Blade 1 & 2 were so much better than any of the movies Marvel Studios has made with the exception of Iron Man.
And outside of Iron Man Marvel Studios makes average movies at best, decent but very average.
August 22nd, 2011 at 3:30 pm
Why should anyone care about what movies fall under what studio? Do you people have stock invested in them or something because y’all come off as bunch of nit-picky pencil dicks.
August 22nd, 2011 at 4:17 pm
Because, Darth_Rath, while most of those non-marvel studios movies you mentioned were good, according to Rotten Tomatoes Marvel Studios produced movies have a 100% success rate while those produced outside of the studio are sometimes extremely unfaithful to the source material, don’t take it seriously, and sometimes suffer for it. While you might not have liked Thor, Captain America, or the Incredible Hulk, most people did.
They were certainly better than the Non-Marvel studio produced FF 1 and 2, Daredevil, Ghostrider, All of the Punishers, Spider-man 3, X3, etc. You can’t just cherry pick the non-Marvel produced movies.
I prefer consistency, and I enjoy the fact that those under Marvel’s guidance can have the kind of continuity that we enjoy in the comic books.
