Well, I'm going to buck consensus and say that I've enjoyed B-INC a whole lot. In fact the last issue with Man-o'-Bats was exactly the kind of thing I look for in a superhero funnybook. I had a great time reading it(the M-O-B cave just about killed me). I had FUN! Morrison is doing the exact opposite of what should be done with Batman and I'm loving it. Burnham is bringing out all the humor in the series that was buried with Paquette. The only thing that is ruining it for me is the horrendous scheduling and lateness from the git go. Now another long gap (at least four months probably more), a real momentum killer. When this book comes back with 100% Burnham art(I hope) I'll be there.

Yeah, Slappy, I'm with you. I'm sick of shitty writers like Grant Morrison working on Batman. He's almost as bad as that Paul Dini. Thank Highfather we have amazing writers like David Finch and Tony Daniel working on Batman comics.

Every single last thing Grant Morrison has done with Batman has been an abomination and a nightmare. I can't wrap my head around how a guy who has written some of my favorite stuff of all time has so thoroughly screwed up my favorite character of all time. Please, no more. I don't care what the "DCnu" Batman is so long as he isn't Grant Morrison's Batman.

Time to bring back the Silver Agey goodness of comics that are only scheduled to come out six, eight or ten times a year. Superman only became a montly comic in 1970 or thereabouts, with the first issue of the "Kryptonite Nevermore!" storyline.

Grant Morrision can be hit or miss when he wants to be. I dont think Final Crisis was good at all. I read it and re-read it and I still cant understand it. However his All Star Superman and recent Batman and Robin was AMAZING. His take on Dick as Batman was just classic and as much I did not like Damien when I first started reading the little shit grew on me and is one of the best new characters of the last decade. Batman Inc left me cold and maybe it was because of the art was not as good as could have been. Maybe Grant taking a break and writing Action Comics will be a good thing. We shall see.

Well I loved Morrison for the most part. Dick as Batman was amazing. Prof Pyg I did not like and the concept of Batman inc was quite something. I really did like his take on the dark knight. it was very well written and quite a departure. Damian has been an incredible character. I really feel that this has been a great age for Batman, because something different happened. It showed the true strength of Bruce Wayne especially in the Return mini series. I really loved it. Grant is crap at schedules. I will say that. I fear for action comics punctuality

"I even stopped buying Batman stuff thanks to Morrison’s weirdness (I liked All Star Superman, but his Batman books of the last five years left me cold, and I am glad I stopped before RIP and Final Crisis came along)."

You and me both. Never cared for Damien, Prof. Pyg, Dick as Batman, the Club of Heroes, etc.

Agreed, Passive... You had some good things to say here.

As to whether or not Didio will back up his words with action remains to be seen though. He's made claims before, and in the time that I've been reading comics again nothing has changed. Apart from me not buying any DC books anymore, that is. Didio, Morrison, and other things made that an easy choice for me awhile back. I've been mostly skipping DC's output since the Sinestro Corps War came to an end. That was good stuff, but once I realized it was yet another launching point to yet another "Event" in the DCU I pretty much lost interest.

Anyhow, I have no interest in the New 52. If it does well, good for DC and the people who enjoy reading the books. I'll pass, save my money, and find other stuff that might interest me instead. Brian K. Vaughan has a new project coming. That's something I'll probably look into it. Or maybe I'll find some collections of older stuff that I missed but could now catch up on.

Dan Didio said the new DC titles WILL ship on time. I take it this then is a response to the team not meeting its deadlines. Good for Didio to put some bite into the companies decisions. Grant is fantastic usually, though he can go so surreal, (Final Crisis), he borders on LSD-like stupidity, but I agree with Didio to not let one giant in the industry and his pet project screw up the symmetry of DCs relaunch. The Leviathan Strikes special will be a nice way to read the stories conclusion.
I truly hope DC sticks to its guns about deadlines and in time retrains the professionals to put the deadlines ahead of the marketing, (comic con appearances come before finishing the product? That mentality needs to end.).

"it’s safe to say that the most recent Batman relaunch is an example of how not to relaunch your biggest franchise – and, hopefully, a lesson learned by DC as we head into next month’s New 52."

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DC, learn their lesson about launching a new series? Graeme, c'mon... This crap with books never shipping on time has been happening for YEARS now. I came back to comics after seeing and loving Batman Begins back in, what, 2005? It's an ongoing problem, and that fact that it's still happening tells me that the DC regime will never correct this. Or even care, apparently.

Now, if I honestly gave a crap about the New 52 (I don't) or if I liked what Grant Morrison has done with Batman since he took over that Batman (proper) title years back (I don't) then I might be concerned about this myself. But I'm not. DC's problems run deep, and I can't believe anyone's buying their stuff
anymore. They lost me awhile ago.

And Batman Inc. was just a stupid-sonding title. Both the name, and the concept for the book. Big shock it's ending so soon.

Please, DC... Do what you want to the rest of your universe, but take Batman back to being a mostly solo, mostly street-level character.
