@ Comicsareliterature: I agree with you about X-men First Class being a good movie but I don’t think it was the movie itself that made it good in comparison to the talent of the actors…I initially watched x-men for what the title signified…X-men…but after 30 minutes into the movie I realized that what i was watching was Magneto’s stand alone movie…Xavier was good as well but there’s no comparison to actually who the star of the movie was…the X-men seemed rushed and lacked characterzation (besides mystique)….to my point about what you said…Everyone in Dark Knight was fleshed out…everyone to some degree peaked my interest…I hate Christian Bale as batman and I think Chris Nolan never wanted the focus to be on batman (and thats probably why we get a batman who cant move his neck)he wanted us to understand the psyche of not only bruce wayne/batman but the psyche of every single last character that spoke in those movies affected by batman…Dark Knight wins to me only because these are the only superhero movies I kno where I don’t have to see the main character to be entertained…

Love the last two Batman movies. Best comic movies around…until X-Men First Class. X-Men First Class stacks up to the Dark Knight movies in terms of quality in all ways. I hope Cap is as good. Thor was also up there with the Dark Knight films, but a tad below them.

Personally I still adore Spider-Man 2 with a passion as my favorite superhero movie. The Dark Knight, after having re-watched it again last night, is my #2,with Thor being #3. And I must say, seeing this teaser trailer alone has my mouth watering and anticipating this more than anything. As bad as it sounds, it kinda would make sense if even Alfred were to die in this movie… but it looks like Gordon will instead. BUT who knows, i just wanna watch this movie already!!!!! It’s most definitely going to be the #1 movie of the year, perhaps all time, in sales after the Dark Knight did so well. Even with Avengers premiering. Because everyone simply just loved the last two Batman movies.

Lets just hope this avoids the 2000′s super hero trilogy cruse of being the crappiest of crap, which we have seen from X-men and Spider-man, if that happens we will all be good

It is difficult to compare Nolan’s Batman films with Marvel’s movies or even some of DC’s other films as others have said before me. They are crafted with a level of maturity and filmic quality that superhero movies lack. If you were to try to compare TDK with another comic film I’d suggest comparing it to Road to Perdition, or History of Violence. Nolan’s approach to Batman is like watching a Michael Mann crime movie which in my opinion grounds the characters and their situations.

And Iron Man 2 was disappointing because the only person worth watching was RDJ, the script was complete commercialised fodder, and the new characters were miscast. Black Widow wasn’t even Russian! I was so looking forward to seeing Black Widow on the big screen, and it turned out she was starring in Salt and not Iron Man 2!

You’re comparing apples to oranges.

THE DARK KNIGHT was a crime film. Like THE FRENCH CONNECTION or a film noir thriller. It just HAPPENED to have a guy in a bat costume and a villain in make-up.

The Marvel movies are ‘comic book movies’. Unappologetic, not grounded in any ‘realistic’ world, brightly colored and kid friendly. That’s not saying they’re BAD, mind you, just different.

Drewber2635 Although it did not make as much money as the Dark Knight Spider-man 2 was on equal par with writting, directing, cast, performance and greatness as the Dark Knight ever was. Im sure if it wasnt for Ledger’s death the flim would have been around the same number if not a bit more than Spider-man 2

Since when did using 2 characters and its hard to even say 2 given the craptastic verison of Bane that was used before is over and over again. Also what is lousy about Catwoman and Bane? What villain would you have picked? Penguin? Oh wait that would fall under your over and over again, Riddler? oh wait again that falls under your statement? Freeze? again, Ivy? again, So who else is left Killer Croc? I mean come on think before you go trashing stuff. Also numbnuts The Dark Knight made over 1,001,921,825 gross rev and Ironman 2 only made 622,056,974, I really dont think it will be hard for a good sequel to do better than Ironman 2. That chanting at the end of the trailer is the same chanting from those fake viral videos from awhile back. I guess they weren’t so fake after all.

Did anyone else notice that sniper standing behind Batman?

Anyhow, I think Nolan’s Batman movies will rank as one the best movie trilogies of all-time for me, personally. Take that disappointing Iron Man 2!
