File under “What the what?”: Ghostface Killah is being sued for, amongst other things, using the name “Tony Starks” without paying any royalties to Marvel Comics. And, to make matters more strange, he’s not being sued by Marvel.
The suit against the Wu-Tang Clan rapper and co-defendants Sony Music Entertainment has been brought by composer Jack Urbont over what he claims is unlicensed use of the Iron Man theme music he wrote for the 1960s animated version of the character on the 2000 album Supreme Clientele; the “Tony Starks” claim is, seemingly, just an unconnected add-on thrown in there for good measure. Color me interested to see what attorneys from Marvel or parent company Disney have to say about the lawsuit.

It’s a little funny for me that the album’s interludes were the first place that I’d ever heard that Iron Man theme song. I wonder why there was an eleven year wait for the lawsuit.
