Im glad they are getting rid of the "underwear in the out side thing" and come on!! supermans uniform should be tough or armored as well so it can withstand external forces "with him" else he will be flying around naked... Duh!!

Not to be pushing for quotas, but if this is supposed to be part of the "more diverse" new DCU -- still, only one member of color on the Justice League? Bleh.

I've been a fan of DC since I was roughly 1 year old, when Superman (1978) came out, and I take my kids today. This also lead to me knowing about the world of comic books. The point of this, when I became a fan of comics, there was already over 40 years of stories, charcters, and other events that you heard or read about. The number on the comics didn't change for most book, like Action, Superman, Detective, or Batman. We've had costume changes many times before. Superman has changed his costume a few times, but mostly sutle changes instead of changing his underware. I wonder what the response was to Superman when they changed his S crest from the old English looking S to the S that we reconized today, I'm sure it was the same king of response. Having change come to comics is nothing new with fans, and if they have good stories and you (the fan) enjoy the stories or events, then I'm all for DC and hope them the best. I believe the biggest problem that fans are having is that DC is renumbering all of their books. When I would go to the comic store and see Action Comics at issue 832 for example, then see Amazing Spiderman at issue 584, I knew that Action has been numbering for a very long time. With that it shows that this charcter has survived the test of time in order to reach this high of a number. When Marvel did this to a number of their books with Heroes Reborn, I seem to recall most fans being upset that Amazing Spiderman, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, and Fantastic Four were renumbered. Marvel saw that this was not what the fans wanted and went back to the orginal numbering. I was happy to see my Marvel books back to their orginal numbering, but it's always left a sour taste in my mouth, because in the end they went back to orginal numbering and now DC is going to learn the same thing in a couple of years. Yes, the fans will call out to have their orginal numbering on their four main books, Superman, Action, Batman, and Detective, but this will leave that sour taste in fans mouths. The main reason for this is that DC has published these four books without much interuption since they started in 1938 and no other comic books can say this. Now that DC is re-numbering all their books, this is what fans are truly upset about. They will get over Superman not wearing red underware for blue underware to match his pants, and fans understand Wonder Woman wearing pants too, and lets face it Batman will always be Batman because there is not much to change. You've had all these major changes to every comic book charcter at some point over the years and fans either get over it, jump on the band wagon, or the comic industry looses a fan forever. Fans want their comics to retain those extremly high issue numbers, because it shows dedication that no other comic books have been able to maintain. You want to renumber Green Lantern from issue 68 to issue 1 again (volume 6 I believe it will be now) go ahead, be my guest, but leave the main four ones alone. Show to the world that these four titles have survived the test of all the difficult times and will survive into the future (because like I said before, the fans just want to see these four books reach those fantastic numbers). As a kid, I saw Action Comics go from roughly 547 to over 900 today, so it's a terrible shame that me or my son, whom I named after Superman, won't see Action Comics reach another milestone that has taken over 76 years to reach with issue 1000. I thought I would live to see this day when I was growing up, because again this is one of the four books that started it all. To end it's run now is just a disgrace and it breaks my heart knowing that DC is turning their backs on their fans, old or new, or the ones you get for four issues. DC will come back to the orginal numbering, but it just leaves you with the "New Coke" taste in your mouth. Yeah, it's Coke, but it's never the same.

If Supes' armor is lead-lined, then it makes quite a bit of sense. And, I love these costumes. Don't care if other people don't.

You know what makes a costume iconic? Simplicity. None of these are simple and seem like a pain to draw. Why couldn't they get someone like Barry Kitson re-design the costumes? He did an amazing job with the Threeboot Legion of Superheroes.

So, I'm guessing that DC is ditching the whole "Underwear on the outside of the pants" look.
It works on some costumes, but not Superman's or Batman's... In my opinion.
