Mums the word. That’s been the motto for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises so far. Since filming began we’ve have very tiny bits of information leak out but it seems something big has finally made its way to the internet.
The information isn’t a specific location or plot point per se but opens the flood gates for speculation. For those who think they can avoid it until the film’s release on July 20, 2012, I’ll put the exact information under the cut. SPOILERS FOLLOW.
The website HitFix.com has been informed a specific actor filmed for The Dark Knight Rises in London just this past Monday. The actor? None other than Liam Neeson. “We’ve been hearing word that this film will bring the Nolan trilogy full circle in many ways, and if the word I’ve been hearing from the set is accurate, then that’s not just a thematic promise,” says HitFix, “According to sources, none other than Liam Neeson was on the set of The Dark Knight Rises on Monday, shooting a scene as Ra’s al Ghul.”
We already know that actor Josh Pence is cast as a young Ra’s for the film but the website could not confirm is Neeson’s role was meant as a flashback or took place during the film’s current timeline. “By Tuesday night, he was already in New York where he showed up for the premiere of the revamped Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark,” writes HitFix, “I have no idea if he’s going to return to London for more The Dark Knight Rises shooting or not, but at the very least, we know he’s stepped in front of the camera.”
Please, please let this be true.
