Update: Well, DC has announced Suicide Squad and Blue Beetle, bringing the total to 48. Will things play out as simple as they seem — Action Comics, Superman, Superboy and Supergirl— or is there a Friday surprise headed our way?
Original story: OK, so on Tuesday we posted a bit of a running tally of the post-Flashpoint DC titles announced thus far — 34 books at that point, and 12 more have been announced since, leaving us with only six slots to fill before reaching the announced total of 52.
Some are obvious — Action Comics, Superman, Superboy and Supergirl. Superboy was effectively confirmed by Scott Lobdell in Vaneta’s interview with him over on the homepage, Supergirl art has surfaced on DC’s servers, and as far as Superman and Action Comics — well, duh.
So we’ve got two left. What will they be? Some type of Marvel family title? Maybe another Superman character, like Steel? Where’s Zatanna in all of this? Feel free to speculate away, and a list of the 46 titles announced thus far is after the jump.

I’m guessing Batman Beyond and JLA Beyond. However, the latter makes sense to fold in with a Superman announcement, but the former doesn’t.
Very surprised at no JSA, though I guess Mr.Terrific seemingly joining the Justice League was a clue toward that.

Batman Beyond was confirmed as getting a new #1 by Adam Beechen: http://twitter.com/#!/sonnova/status/76689079961530369 so it looks like that’s certain and JLA Beyond has been heavily rumored for a while, so I imagine it’s those two.
No sign of Blue Beetle anywhere, sadly.

Wasn’t there supposed to a second Flash title called Speed Force or something like that?

Paul – we had an article looking at the likelihood of JSA in the post-Flashpoint DCU here: http://www.newsarama.com/comics/dcnu-justice-society-110601.html
Rich – good catch. We’ll see soon enough I guess!

No space titles other than the Lantern ones? Lobo? Adam Strange?

maybe tomorrow is Legacy heroes, as well as Superman — Flash Family, JSA and Blue Beetle

CBR and Newsarama has broken the news (respectively) from DC of BLUE BEETLE and SUICIDE SQUAD. That leaves four books. The cover art for SUPERMAN, SUPERBOY, and SUPERGIRL has leaked, and are sure to be part of tomorrow’s announcement with ACTION COMICS. I imagine that BATMAN BEYOND and SUPERMAN/JUSTICE LEAGUE BEYOND are simply not going to be among the 52 — as books not occurring in the core timeline of the new streamlined universe, they’ll likely be shunted to a separate end of the branding, perhaps with books like BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD and TINY TITANS.

Buried in the piece on the Edge titles, is the line that Grifter is “written by Nathan Edmondson with art by CAFU and BIT (the team behind T.H.U.N.D.E.R. AGENTS).”
Now, they might have meant the art team for the current book, or could they have slipped and announced another title accidentally?

Maybe JSA will be part of one of the other universes and take place during WW II. Have we ever seen a return to the Earth 2 world introduced in the JSA annual a while back in the midst of the Thy Kingdom Come storyline? Justice Infinity, I think they were called?
They are reprinting 80s Infinity, Inc and the 70s All-Star Comics runs again soon for some reason, right? Maybe we’re going to get a separate-branded Earth-2 line.
DiDio referenced the other universes in his AICN interview this morning, so clearly that concept is not dead (not to mention Morrison’s Multiversity).

I’m almost hoping that the final reveal will be Watchmen. Much like how they’re bringing Swamp Thing and Constantine back into the mix in a reboot, but still leaving their Vertigo continuities intact, I can see them doing the same with Watchmen. Not the OFFICIAL characters and continuity from the graphic novel, but the same characters.
I can see it working by having them exist as they did in the graphic novel, but integrate it into the new DCU, and have Ozymandias’ grand plan have a slightly different outcome. It would still have taken place in the 40s to the 80′s, and whatever happened is in the new DCU’s past. The characters would be old, and we might even get a third generation of Minutemen.
So by keeping them as legacy characters, they can easily co-exist (with tweaks) in the DCU in an alternate fashion. It would be neat flashing back to their integration over the decades.
I’d be curious to see it happen.
Reboot #52? Watchmen. Final answer.

Vinnie – they must mean the current book.

A Watchmen revival as part of the DCU?
Corporate suicide.
