X-Men: First Class is getting rave reviews from most of the critics who have viewed it so far and fans seem to be satisfied more each passing day with the preview clips that have been released but one particular character hasn’t been getting much attention. Until now. Here’s brand-new shots of actress January Jones as Emma Frost.
The shots, which will appear with a few more in next week’s issue of The Hollywood Reporter, certainly show the character more akin to how fans of the comic are used to seeing her – In next to nothing. You can thank First Class costume designer Samantha Sheldon.
And here she is with her trademark cape. We’ve seen shots of Jones in a sparkly bra and a leather pants suit but these are the first images that lean closer to the White Queen’s preferred stylings. Here’s a Emma-centric clip that was released this week:

Yummy! I’m always in favor of two piece lingerie, but really, she’d rock the corset, and it would be more iconic and just as sexy!

I still hate it. It just looks like she forgot to put clothes on, which in turn makes her look a little whore-ish, in my opinion. I wish they’d done something sexy, with similar cuts, but more… uniform-ish or at least like an actual outfit, not just underthings.
They could have done so much better.

I think because the world inside a comic is so exaggerated, I don’t really focus on how skinny most of the female characters are, or if I do, it changes from artist to artist, anyway.
But, man, January Jones is thin.
She looks better in that odd little clip than in any of the outfits above it.

It’s funny how confronting it is on a real person. I do worry that people not used to the character will think she’s supposed to be some sort of prostitute, rather than someone who uses their sexuality almost entirely intimidate and manipulate others.

it’s always looked whore-ish.it’s just that comic book art exaggerates the body types and all.but true, she looks skinny. but that’s what u pay for. emma frost has always been of looser morals than most x-men when it comes to attire. look at quiteley’s redesign. no way that would ever look decent. it fits the bill in my eyes. bear in mind that the director clearly set out to make this movie it’s own thing,having little or no ties to the comics. so give it a chance. i think it’s what u pay for.it’ll do.
