The Amazon Princess may not be splashing back into live-action anytime soon but Wonder Woman is back on television once more thanks to the animated series, Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
TV Guide has acquired the clip of Diana making her entrance into the series by rescuing Batman, her significant other, Steve Trevor and deflecting a whole lotta bullets. In the episode, airing this Friday on the Cartoon Network, Wonder Woman is voiced by Vicki Lewis of NewsRadio fame. The actress previously voiced Persephone in the Wonder Woman animated film from Warner Bros. starring Kerri Russell.
In the episode, titled “Scorn of the Star Sapphire,” Batman teams up with Green Lantern for the main storyline in which they fight against Carol Ferris and the Zamarons (watch a clip of the fight on IMDB) so it’s not clear how much screen-time Wonder Woman will actually have. Either way, using the Invisible Jet and Lynda Carter’s 1970s Wonder Woman theme song sounds like Warner Bros. saying, “Sorry about that other thing…”

Vicki Lewis?! Sold! This will be her greatest role since the Disney Channel Original Movie “Den Brother.”

Vicki Lewis is good voice casting but it would have been a real coup to have gotten Lynda Carter.

Fantastic clip! I might have to start watching this show…

Cool clip (the 70s Wonder Woman theme rocked) – but Susan Eisenberg will always be the animated Wonder Woman to me!

I was really hoping the planed live-action Wonder Woman show would have gone throw but seeing her in another cartoon series is just as good.

@Steve in San Diego, my age is showing, but Shannon Farnon will always be the animated Wonder Woman to me.

Baroness Blitzkrieg, perhaps?
Pretty awesome clip. The 70s theme song was a nice touch, but its just good to see Wonder Woman do what she does best — deflect bullets with her bracelets and kick butt!

You have to wonder if they at least ASKED Lynda Carter.
Her, or Ellie Wood Walker.

umm…Why would WB be saying sorry about the TV pilot when this episode was probably produced and made well in advance? Not to mention the fact that they reference old DC history all the time and likely would have made all the same references regardless.
Not a big deal, just an ignorant comment…

aaaaand, the show is delayed again. Another rerun on Friday. I have one ticked-off niece who’s been waiting to see Wonder Woman!

The Baroness is Paula Van Gunther, I believe. She later reformed and became Paradise Island’s chief scientist.

@akachris
Who says Lynda Carter HASN’T been asked to do voiceover?
She may still have the TV Wonder Woman outfit but has no plans to wear it again or do anything in connection with the character once more, period.
It’s because of people LIKE US that she’s distanced herself. She had a middling showbiz career up until the mid-1980s/thereabouts but was never able to get away from the Amazon’s shadow. Same thing’s happened to at least half the actors who ever portrayed Superman. Ask Michael Keaton about his post-Batman career, too.
I’m glad for Vicki Lewis because she’s a damn fine entertainer and a very good actor, period. She’s done a lot of voiceover before this. She even voiced Iris West in Justice League: The New Frontier.
Too bad the airdate’s for the WW/GL episode has been reshuffled once again but CN has treated Batman: The Brave and the Bold like an unwanted stepchild since the second season of the show. They rerun every other show to death on CN but a lot of the episodes of this series since the first season ended haven’t been rerun, period. You snooze, you have to wait for the DVD release because they will NOT rerun episodes on CN!

Shannon Farnon will always be Wonder Woman to me too!! I guess we must be old! LOL Anyway, I read the CN schedule and this episode isn’t listed for Friday!! Did CN not update their schedule or IS this episode, in fact, delayed???

It’s hardly ignorant for anyone to suppose this is an apology for the WW TV travesty – the fan reaction to it was irritated at best from the get-go/previews, & this whole thing could have – & who knows, probably WAS – planned as a sop to the outraged fanbase. Yeah, they “reference old DC a;; the time” – but was there any guarantee they were going to get around to do WW? They’re canceling B&tB, aren’t they – & haven’t treated it all that well all along!

Now THIS is AMAZING!!! Wonder Woman would be such a great animated series in this style. When the theme song from the Lynda Carter series started playing my heart was spinning. Somebody out there who did this knows how to please Wonder Woman fans!!! LOVE this clip. And to those above who mentioned voice talent Shannon Faron, she was the greatest animated voice for Wonder Woman to me as well. WOW this was a great clip. More please.
