The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision is reporting that Social Network actor Josh Pence, who portrayed one of the Wiklevoss twins (albeit with Armie Hammer’s face superimposed over his own) has been cast as a young Ra’s al-Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises. Pence’s scenes will reportedly take place 30 years in the past, a rumor which lends credence to the theory of Marion Cotillard as Thalia al-Ghul.
What do you think? He looks like a young Liam Neeson to me. What clues could this provide about the film’s still murky plot? Could Bane be connected to the League of Shadows? If you start to piece it together in your head, it kinda makes sense…

Umm… The Cloak & Dagger comment appears to be the wrong thread.
Anyhow, this guy definitely looks like a young Liam Neeson. I like what I’m hearing about The Dark Knight Rises (even though I hope they change the title before the movie opens). While I don’t want Nolan’s Bat-series to end, if it must I like him bringing the story full circle to Batman Begins and giving us more about Ra’s past, and then bringing Talia into the mix. I wouldn’t mind if Neeson made a surprise appearance, with Ra’s revived via the Lazarus Pit either (although I doubt Nolan will go that route).
Bane in the League of Shadows also makes sense to me. I’m not sure how Selina Kyle will figure into all of this, or if she’ll appear as Catwoman, but I think this is going to be a triumphant finish to what will go down as one of the great films series ever made.
I’m looking forward to this year’s slate of comic book movies (well, I’m going into Green Lantern and X-Men with cautious optimism), but 2012 cannot come soon enough!
