Amy is a Great actress I just do not like her as Lois. I agree with what some have said here Hard to get pass Ma Kent being better looking then Lois.I like most of the other choices mention better.

People were doing the same thing when Michael Keaton was cast as Batman, and the internet wasn’t even a factor yet! If the movie disappoints when it is finally released, the detractors can say, “I told you so”, or if it’s great, they’ll say, ” I knew it all along!” The internet means never having to say you got it wrong!

I’m ok with Amy Adams. I have Season One of Smallville and get a kick at seeing how this actress star has risen from her one episode. As for those whining about her hair color – she was a blonde in her very first movie….the highly hilarious but mostly forgotten Drop Dead Gorgeous.

Amy Adams doesn’t do it for me,nor does any of the other casting I’ve heard about. Am I the only one that gets the sense of “same old, same old” about this project? I haven’t heard anything that sounds original yet. What next Seth Rogan as “Luthor” and Jack Black as “Otis” or maybe Zach Galifianakis? And do we really need another take on the origin or another “go” with Zod, as has been rumored. Anyone who knows anything about Superman can tell you the origin in their sleep.
Just spitballing here, but can you imagine how much more interesting Rosario Dawson would have been as Lois Lane? Despite being a Superman fan, this is looking more and more like a “Must Miss” for me…

betwenn Cavill and Lane there are 19 years of difference, which, I think, are waaay less than Ma kent and Clark in the comic universe – I just hope they’ll not do anyhting to lane to make her look older, as a straight female, I can say she is a beatiful woman, and she doesn’t deserve it. besides, I don’t seee the point in casting people and then aging them of 10 years or so through tecnology, when you can cast people of that age right from the start.

for teh air colour and the age thing: the girl who play carol in green lantern should be a blonde, if I’m not mistaken. the changed hair colour, so it’s not big deal, and for the age… wasn’t jean in the x-men movies a way oler than Scott?

I love Amy Adams – she’s a great actress. I would not have thought about her for Lois Lane, and i’m not sure she’s the right choice…but I’m open to see how it goes. She’s already thousands of times better than Kate Bosworth.

I don’t get it.

I really like Amy Adams, but I REALLY don’t see her as Lois Lane. I’m sure she’ll be good, but I just don’t see it.

She seems perfect for Lana Lang (as per the classic comics version of that character), and I would have loved to see her in that role instead.

I thought Lana had a larger role in this movie than Lois?
That might have just been a rumor.

Oh well.

I like this choice. It’s shaping up to have a really great cast so far. The next key – and this is a big one – is to NOT CAST LEX LUTHOR AS THE VILLAIN.

We’ve had enough of Lex, and we’ve seen how it doesn’t work out well on the big screen anymore. That is, unless he’s the mastermind behind another villain (like Bizarro, Metllo, bringing in Darkseid, etc). Superman II worked so well because Supes actually got to use his powers against someone. That’s what people want – Supes action. Not more kryptonite plots from Lex.

I’m a huge Smallville fan but as soon as Chris Nolan got involved in this project even I know that Smallville needs to be put aside. This is shaping up to be a good, solid Superman movie that from what we’ve heard seems to be focusing more on an idea of what a Superman movie should be as opposed to just trying to put Superman back on the big screen. In addition to Nolan, the casting appears to be there as well. The biggest question will be Snyder directing and that we will just have to wait and see. I think as long as there are other people writing for (or at least WITH) Snyder it will work out pretty well.

Also, I agree with Claudio as far as Lois being already established before Clark even makes it to Metropolis. Again, I’m a huge fan of Smallville but even I admit they’ve changed things around a lot. It works for the show, but I think the show needs to stay the show. Smallville has been about the journey to Superman, and sooner or later that journey needs to end and he needs to become Superman. Which is in about 5 more episodes.

Good job casting Amy Adams, here.

Sorry Smallville fans, the very much elseworlds universe of Smallville is too far from the basics of the comics. Films need to be much more mainstream and stick to the basics of the original work.

Smallville has lasted way too long. The show is about Clark growing into his role. the problem is that the show has gone on so long that everyone around him has grown and matured way more than he has. More often than not Clark is written as a putz instead of the inspirational leader of his generation of heroes.

Totally agree with Mahzian, Tom Welling and, at least, the Lois Lane in Smallville should have given a chance to the big screen; not all trial and error to cast the Man of Steel.

Welling is best Clark since Reeve.

Lois has had reddish-brown hair for a long time in comics, mostly during the “triangle” period (including the Death of Superman). And Lois being a bit older than Clark is spot-on with the canon: Lois was already a successful journalist when Clark came to Metropolis.

Most importantly, Amy Adams has the acting chops to pull off Lois, if the script gives her the material.

She may be 36 but she looks to young to be Lois; and, Lois is a brunette.

Also, Diane Lane is far too hot and too young to be Ma Kent. And Kevin Costner might be a bit too young for Pa Kent.

All in all, I’m getting nervous vibes that this movie may be on a quality level with Superman Returns, In other words, a disaster.

Does anyone else thinks she looks like Tess from Smallville? IMO they should have used Tom Welling and co. I know some people balk at their acting skills but they’ve had 10 years practice at these roles, and it would be neat to see the next era for smallville.

The Swedish name for Superman is Stålmannen, literally “The Steel Man”. They don’t often translate movie titles anymore, but I hope they do it just this once, thus making the Swedish title (literally translated) into the supremely redundant “The Steel Man: Man of Steel”.
