DC Comics releases this week contained a tantalizing five-page prelude of Batwoman #1 (one you can view right here); showcasing art from the ever-acclaimed J.H. Williams III, who co-wrote the book with W. Haden Blackman. The preview said “April 2011,” but it looks like that won’t end up being the case — per Diamond, the publisher has canceled orders on both Batwoman #1 and #2, with a new date yet to be announced. Batwoman #1 was originally solicited for release in February. We’ll get you an update with a new release date when we know it.

Consider this mag dropped! If you can’t get on the ball, DC, then my $$ can go elsewhere.

Maybe they should change the name of the comic to All-Star Batwoman.

Grow up. You’ll still buy it. And you can’t drop a book if it hasn’t come out yet.

Sorry to hear the news. Maybe it will get a real release date when more issues are ‘in the can,’ if that’s the problem. I look forward to reading it when it hits the stands. When the first arc is collected next year, it won’t matter how late it was.

Balls! I’m dying to read this book. Watch this be a repeat of Capt. America: White. Issue #0 comes out then…nothing.

@All-Star Batman: really?, wow how much is the delayed series that hasn’t been printed yet set you back? Your minor inconvience aside this isn’t new to anyone who is a JH Williams’ fan. He’s not a monthly artist, never has been. The only thing I blame DC for is trying to rush him to push it out too soon.

DC get on the ball and get your creators to actual do the work they are suppose to do. Get books out on time and if it was out on time then the book book would have been out in february. Now we are waiting till who knows when.
March 10th, 2011 at 3:03 pm
Woah Woah Woah.. Williams told them the book wouldn’t be ready in February.
March 10th, 2011 at 3:25 pm
Anyone who read Promethea knows how long it can be between issues for Williams. I stuck with that series, and I was glad I did. Still one of the best looking comics I’d seen until his run on Detective.
I don’t have a problem with Williams’ inability to stick to the monthly schedule, and I’ll pick up the book when it comes out. But, frankly, we’d all be better off (reader, Diamond, DC and Williams) if he were able to work in an OGN format and not worry about the artifact of the monthly 22 page comic and shipping schedule.
My only concern is that the Batwoman character is taking a good long while to find her place in the DC Comics/ Entertainment world of characters. 2006 was a long time ago.

Williams has pretty much said that to DC they shouldn’t expect the book to be ready so soon. If it hadn’t have been solicited, no one would mind, which is where DC went wrong.

This is a real shame as Batwoman should be being integrated into the rest of the Bat Family, but without a couple of issues nothing can happen.

You all sound stupid

The beauty of these blogging engines and CMS platforms is the lack of limitations and ease of manipulation that allows developers to implement rich content and ‘skin’ the site in such a way that with very small effort one would never notice what it is making the site tick all without limiting content and effectiveness.
