This is the THOR trailer you’ve been waiting to see.

A full Thor theatrical trailer has just been released and it’s…well, it’s…FREAKING AMAZING!!

Was I right or what? Frost Giants, Destroyer, Asgard, Odin, Loki, Heimdall, the Warriors Three…they really know how do get us excited, don’t they? I think my favorite line is Darcy’s, “You know, for a crazy, homeless person, he’s pretty cut.”

Thor, starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman, hits theaters May 6th.

Honest to god, bits that make me think of the He-Man movie aside, I really didn’t think this would be so awesome. I really, really like the angle they’re going for here with the story — just a great decision.

  2. Drew Taylor Says:

    woohoo!

  3. Ghostdog Says:

This looks really good. I’m going to have to see this one, much better than what Captain America looks like.

  4. Crusader k Says:

Hmmm…looks verrry cool. I just hope we dont see 3/4′s of a scaled down, human-ish Thor with like 15 minutes of ragin Asgardian thunder god.

  5. will Says:

The first two trailers were just sort of “meh”, but this one was unbelievable. Now that I know what this movie really is, and I’m pumped for it.

    Damn!!

  8. turkish101 Says:

Ok, yes, this looks way better than the other trailers. Color me very surprised. My prediction has just changed from ‘terrible’ to ‘OK’.

  9. MisterWinner Says:

    My prediction:
The old (human) guy is Dr Donald Blake. He dies at the end of the movie and Thor takes his name when he decides to stay on Earth because he is the first human (human male at least) that he becomes friends with.

  10. Daan Says:

    Wow!!!! :D
I think X-men First Class is gonna suck ass, but THIS is going to be simply AMAZING!!!

Thor is gonne (Rackna)rock the cinema’s!!!

  11. Matt D Says:

A Thor trailer badly needs Immigrant Song.

  12. Wendell Says:

Initially, I was excited upon seeing the initial photo stills from the movie, showcasing the look/design of the characters and cinematic aspects of the film. Then, I really got psyched after watching the first full trailer, which confidently displayed the director’s interpretation of my all-time favorite, comic book superhero, THOR.

Now, after watching THIS trailer, I don’t know what to say other than…”I’m PUMPED beyond measure!”

Wow! Bravo! Excellent! Amazing! Stupendous! Superb! Magnanimous!

I can go on and on posting adjectives to describe what I think of the footage I’ve seen so far, but needless to say…(IMO) THIS movie, [THOR] will be THE movie to beat in this box office year.

    Green Lantern who?

    Please.

  13. Lan Pitts Says:

    Dynamite.

  14. PJ Says:

Ok, this trailer looks awesome, but I have never real;ly been a Thor fan and, therefore, not read any Thor comics, other than some random tie-ins with other events. Can aynone reccomend some Thor stuff that might be good to check out? I was thinking of looking into the JMS stuff because it got such great reviews, but that’s it so far.

  15. Karmix Says:

    @PJ
The JMS stuff is a must read if you want to get into the new Thor mythos. You should also check out the “Thor Visionaries: Walter Simonson” TP’s for, perhaps, the most acclaimed run anyone has had with the character (I think there are 3 or more TP’s available).
And last but not least, nothing compares to the gorgeous art of Jack Kirby in the original Journey into Mistery, collected in a massive Omnibus as far as I know.

  16. Wendell Says:

    To Karmix (and PJ),

Karmix, I agree with you 100%, excellent recommendations!

I also would like to add the Dan Jurgens’/John Romita Jr.’s series as “must-read” material, as well.

Additionally, based on the footage in this new trailer, it “seems” that in THOR’s arrogance, he inadvertently releases an ancient evil, that will “more-than-likely” be the villain in the sequel. Of course, I’m speculating (more like, hoping), but if my hunch is correct, you will enjoy reading the very similar storyline/arc in the Jurgens/Romita Jr. series, to which I’m referring.

Regardless of what you select to read PJ, let me just say…

“Welcome to the world of THOR!”

  17. heffison Says:

Wow, that does look like a lot of fun. I’m not sure I need the 3D aspect added in, but that ought to make this movie quite the spectacle.

  18. ACMC Says:

Man was I wrong, I thought it was going to be decent at best and now this trailer is just amazing. It’s probably going to be the best movie out this summer and I’m all DC too.

  19. nick Says:

Thor is rarely wearing his helmet. I want him to wear it like maximus in gladiator. That scene is etched into my mind forever. Thats the only thing lacking. This trailer is awesome though.

  20. Drcharles Says:

    yawn !
I don’t think it looks that good …………….

  21. DaVeO Says:

My only gripe is those Asgard throne room scenes look very CG. Like Star Wars prequel CG. The rest look good though.

  22. Carl Says:

What a lot of people don’t realize is that the actual original Norse sagas have quite a few jokes in there. The best example of that is probaby The Lay Of Thrym. Loki and Thor dress up as women (with Thor pretending to be Freya!) to go get Mjollnir back from Jotunheim. The whole story is pretty much gag after gag. First written down something like 800 years ago.

  23. D Says:

I’ve read the shooting script, and I can say that your guesses so far are off.

But trust me, it’s an amazing read, so I’m hoping the actors and director took the material and did it justice.

    :)

  24. D-Man Says:

    It rocks. Nuff Said.
