The movie looks good, and especially since FOX now knows what the fans are looking for in a comic book movie from the success of the Marvel produced films…they should do a lot better.
Granted there are gaps in character selection….most notably “Havok” being that he is Scott Summer’s younger brother.
Regardless…the movie looks good…
I love that Azazel is in the film, being a huge fan of Nightcrawler and the mutant ability to teleport…it was great to see another teleportation fighting scene in the trailer.

Gotta say this surprised me in a good way. That last X film was so lame, it really turned a lot of people off, but this really looks good.

Yeah, 4 good looking comic movies this summer.

Based on the trailer I was suprisingly pleased. It looks much better than the last X-Men film in the trilogy or X-Men: Origins. Now I am look forward to this movie more than Thor and Captain America though it does not beat out Green Lantern for me yet.

wow! way more impressed with that then i thought i would be. if nothing else it has the best trailer of the five (five!) x-movies.
the few lines we heard from “Charles” and “Eric” seemed seemed well delivered. my only two complaints are Nightcrawlers father (not a fan) and the fact that they keep trying to shoe horn emma frost into anything x-related now a days! why? she has to be one of the lest pleasant, and unnecessary characters in comics today(just bring back jean, they already brought back colossus-the only reason she has diamond skin). you dont need her for sex appeal, pixie seems to be some sort of stripper/call girl (might just be my dirty mind) and you have mystique naked throughout the whole thing./end rant

As much as I would love to enjoy this film as just an adaptaion of the X-men, I just can’t. I’ve been a fan for 18 years reading the comics. I just can’t get over Havok being older than Cyclops and there being two emma frosts. I love the Havok character. As sad as it sounds I hope they make a mention of cyclops being away somewhere so I can be at rest (Iknow crazy fanboy here). I don’t have high hopes for the film. Also WHERE THE HELL IS JEAN GREY! I want to see JEAN GREY AND EMMA FROST FIGHT IT OUT! DOne!

This looks like garbage. Why was pixie (the girl with the wings naked). And of course Mystique is a raging slut. Also, who is this movie supposed to appeal to? Seeing as has nothing in common with the comics and I doubt its going to appeal to new comers. I honestly hopes this movie bombs hard. Lets make Charles and Maggii youngsters and turn them into meathead fratboys. “Hey cool, naked chick with wings. Lets bang her !!”

I’ve read the shooting script and this film has WAY more in common with X3 than with the first two X-films.

Looks nice (as did X3 for the most part) but stay worried.

Like most my expectations were low, but the trailer actually looks decent.
Despite the time line being out of whack for the characters.
The film might actually be good, but this trailer wasn’t featured during the Super-Bowl and isn’t really know outside the net.
Marvel Studios got air-time.
20th century Fox didn’t get any for this picture, makes you wonder if they have any belief in this film.
Big movie studios always do crap like that.
Once Marvel gets the rights back, then there’s hope for a good X-men film.
But how long will that be?

Not to be nitpicky here Red Robin, but they said in X1 that Cyclops, Storm, And Jean were “some of” his first students, not his absolute first students. Also, it sounds like you didn’t really like the first few films, so shouldn’t ignoring their continuity be a positive thing?

At this point the movie continuity is so full of holes, I’m just excited to watch an action movie with X-Men characters in it… because I like action movies and X-Men Characters. I’ll save my continuity gripes for plot holes in the comics, which as far as I’m concerned are the only “real” x-men.

Yeah I’d rather they use continuity closer to the comics in the films, because I think it’s better, and because I think it would be better for comics sales, but realizing that this isn’t going to happen, why should I give a damn about continuity problems when the much greater challenge for the fimmakers to overcome is beating the bad rap from two terrible films. It looks like they might have actually made a good X-Men movie this time. Cool!

I’m feeling rather disappointed with this movie. I just keep seeing the same problems that happened in the previous films. First off too many character, which means most of them will be underdeveloped back ground characters done for fan service. And considering half the cast is obscure characters like Angel, Azazel and Darwin, its not proper fan service since most people aside from comic readers are going to have an idea who they area.

Then there is the fact this movie doesn’t follow any of the established continuity and instead is introducing stuff that creates plot holes and confusing for later films. Such as there being two Emma Frosts, one who’s in her 30′s in the 1960s and another who’s in her late teens in the 1970′s. Or what about in X1, where they said Cyclops, Storm and Jean were Xavier’s first students?

And the special effects I don’t really see anything NEW. But we’ll see…

Have you actually watched the two Singer X-Men films? Half of the characters are just ‘thrown in’ i.e. Colossus, Sabretooth, Deathstrike, Jubilee, ect. All this praise that the original two films are recieving at the expense of the subsequent two is revisionist crap.

I don’t care if it jives with the continuity of the other films or not – what we just saw gave me just enough hope to say that I could enjoy this film. As long as they actually build their characters rather than just throw them in (I’m looking at you, X3 and Wolverine), I’ll be happy.
And holy cow, 60s X-jet FTW

If the Emma in this movie isn’t the same Emma we saw in Wolverine, then since when does Emma have the ability to even transmute her skin to diamond? She was purely telepathic in the early days of the X-Men. That diamond power is a second mutation she achieved 8 years ago.

i too had some reservations about this film for sure. but having seen this one trailer, i can honestly say i’m intrigued. my only concern is the retconning of the timeline. i mean, Havoc has to be in his early to mid twenties by the time Scott is born if he is supposed to be the older of the two now.

and say what you will about X-Men Origins: Wolverine. it was entertaining, for the most part. Gambit and Deadpool got shafted in that film.

hopefully, Matt Vaughn gives us a film that makes up for X3 (sorry Mr. Ratner).
