Etsy Made Me Do It: Laptop Skins

In last week’s Etsy Made Me Do It, I bought you an array of geeky cufflinks. Once a week I’ll be sifting through the millions of Etsy listings to find the best in geek chic for Blog@ readers. This week I’m highlighting some of the most unique laptop skins to nerdify your computer. I’ve actually never bought a skin for my MacBook simply because there are so many great ones out there. It’s just too hard to decide. But here are a few to tempt you.

From user MacSkins, this Darth Vader MacBook skin shows the villain choking the life out of the Mac apple. Something I’ve certainly never wanted to do…Retails for $8.99. If you’re a Star Wars fan you may also appreciate this Bounty Hunter skin for $9.99 by macappeal.

If you’re an Angry Bird addict like I am you’ll probably get a kick out of the inevitable crash of the Angry Bird and Apple Pig. From macetera for $8.99.

There’s tons of normal Snow White skins in this pose on Etsy but I couldn’t resist highlighting Punk Rock Snow White, she’s just so much cooler. User WallArtForLess also has a Nerdy Snow White looking super cute in glasses, both run $9.99.

For $15.99 you can get the Justice League to guard your laptop. User SkinArt also carries a Gotham City-esque mock-up for $14.90.

This might be my favorite of the bunch because there’s so much going on. And from the look of it, this MacMan MacBook decal from iDecalPro can be configured however you like. $8.99 or order a Street Fighter Ryu skin for $14.99.

Users selling MacBook/laptop skins usually carry A LOT of them. So search through each store for several other skins that might suit your interests better. They also come in several sizes.

Bear in mind, since Etsy is a craft website and not a commercial, mass-market dealer, items are almost always one-of-a-kind or in very limited availability. When you see something you like, buy it. It may not be there the next time you surf round. (Yes, it’s a very dangerous site for your wallet.) Also, since most items are created individually, many sellers are willing to customize something specifically to suit your needs. Just ask!
