So, Marvel is promoting a big announcement coming Friday morning. In fact, it may have been announced by the time you read this, and you’ve already hotly debated the relative scale and importance of whatever was announced. But as of this writing, it’s still unrevealed. And here’s what we know so far. On Thursday afternoon, Avengers/New Avengers/Ultimate Comics Spider-Man/Takio/Scarlet/Powers/am I missing anything? writer Brian Michael Bendis tweeted this:
ok, just got official word tomorrow morning marvel is making the best announcement of the year!! i am applauding already. boom!!
Then Marvel’s official Twitter account posted this:
Hey everybody, what say we start tomorrow with news of a MAJOR Marvel return? Yeah? Cool? Ok. Get up early! G’night!
Which Bendis rewtweeted and responded to with, “i’m excited!!!!
”
So, what could this mean? Well, who knows at this point, really, but keep in mind “return” could mean many things in this instance — return of a series? A character? A concept? A price point? We’ll see soon enough, but smart money would say this announcement could possibly also have something to do with Bendis. (Move over, Batman, a new world’s greatest detective is in town!)

I like Bagley being back – his run at DC was a flop, alas. But “monumental?” Not hardly.

It’s the Alias TV Show. I like the character, but it’s not what I’d call a major announcement.
