Love it!! I don’t usually see a movie more than once, but I want to see this in 2D and 3D…..
December 10th, 2010 at 7:50 pm
i think Green Lantern might be crying in his CG spandex after watching this…
December 10th, 2010 at 8:12 pm
WOW These looks Horrible Green Lantern have nothing to worry about You know Marvel really should just give up the comic book Movie because they just don’t care anymore
Let see how Thor will go
Brother and Brother are friends
evil brother get Good brother taken away
Good Brother comes back beat bad brother becomes Hero
Just like every other movie’s
I swear Marvel need to leave movies and fix their comic books cause DC kicking their butts
December 10th, 2010 at 8:22 pm
Like the “new” snippets that are in this one, but it’s shorter than the leaked trailer from months ago.
But still the hammer shock-wave scene is fan-boy heaven.
Essential viewing!
December 10th, 2010 at 8:23 pm
Destroyer!!
December 10th, 2010 at 8:24 pm
Wow we’re headed to another Marvel vs debate instead of talking about this actual trailer. Seriously stop trying to prove one editor is better and try enjoy comics while they are still published. Anyhow, the visuals in that trailer do look fantastic even though I am afraid the plot might be thin a bit. I will still be looking this one up. I hope for depth and for Marvel to cut a bit on the cheese… even though cheese sells.
So far so good, I am still seeing that movie, no 3D please kill that hype already!
December 10th, 2010 at 8:35 pm
LOVE IT!!
December 10th, 2010 at 8:43 pm
Re: “I swear Marvel need to leave movies and fix their comic books cause DC kicking their butts”
I did not know there were trolls on Midgard…
December 10th, 2010 at 9:40 pm
Looking forward to this one.
Although, I’m very concerned about what I saw at the end of the trailer: “In 3D… and select 2D theaters”.
Almost everything in 3D sucks, you money grubbing Hollywood whores!
December 10th, 2010 at 10:36 pm
2011 is going to be a wonderful year for Superheroes.
I am absolutely stoked for Green Lantern, and now Thor, the film I was most worried about, looks to be shaping up nicely. The trailer did alot to ease some fears I had…the full trailer I hope will ease the rest.
Though, I am concerned, at the moment, with Thor’s fighting…the quick scenes made him seem like a mix martial artist…I have always seen him more as a slobber-knocker style fighter.
December 10th, 2010 at 10:37 pm
I’m from the 90s x-men generation and have always been a marvel reader (found it too troublesome to engage in the DC lore now that im in my late 20s so comics is a small part of my life) but i’m not a thor/avengers fan because, well, i was just crazy over the x-family. Unfortunately the movie mirrors my interest in the thor comic but ill be watching it nonetheless if it reviews above 60-70%. Hope it does well, as i consider myself part of the comic book readership, I always get a kick out of successful comic book movies, be it DC or Marvel.
December 10th, 2010 at 10:45 pm
Doesn’t do a whole lot for me. Thor should have been a lot bigger and buffer, I guess. Agree that the hammer shockwave was pretty awesome though.
December 10th, 2010 at 10:59 pm
“WOW These looks Horrible Green Lantern have nothing to worry about You know Marvel really should…”
Even if you did fix your syntax, grammar and punctuation, your comment would still be a stupid one.
Regarding the Thor movie, I’m actually looking forward to seeing this! The tone seems just right, and the effects don’t seem to be over the top. I hope it does well.
December 10th, 2010 at 11:10 pm
After seeing this I’m even more baffled why producers thing Wonder Woman couldn’t be made into a serious film. It’s the same basic storyline…godly figure, from another world of magics and myth, fish out of water, protector of earth/humans, etc etc etc.
December 10th, 2010 at 11:55 pm
@I-Ching: Warner Brothers CLEARLY has issues ~ I mean, after there insanely popular Batman movie from the 90s, it took nearly 20. TWENTY!!! TWEN-TEEEEEEE!!!! years to get a mediocre Superman movie made, while Marvel’s partners (Sony and 20th Century Fox) brought the incredibly successful (and 2/3s pretty great) Spider-Man and X-Men franchises to bear (not to mention the lesser ones like Blade, Daredevil and the FF). that is literally insane.
…and then Marvel launches Marvel Studios, and gets 5 films done (or almost done) before WB can get it’s first out. (or 4, i forget if Cap or GL comes out first). Warner Brothers IS a movie studio!!!! Marvel had to BECOME one!
I know this is ‘teh internets’ and everyone and their mom thinks they can armchair CEO a huge corporation like WB, but is seems nonsensical to me that they’ve let Marvel get so far ahead in mind share and sheer number of movies like this.
December 11th, 2010 at 12:35 am
One word Yawwwwnnnnnn!!!
December 11th, 2010 at 12:48 am
It looks good to me, as for the marvel DC thing, well DC has batman and that it. Green lantern looks like crap, I mean Hal Jordan cracking jokes? Marvel casts him as deadpool and DC as GL? crasy this.
December 11th, 2010 at 1:32 am
Looked interesting until the last 5 seconds when it said “IN 3D” and then it lost me…
December 11th, 2010 at 3:33 am
If I only see one film next year, it WILL be Thor. I am beyond stoked for this movie.
December 11th, 2010 at 4:53 am
Hope is does well as it means more comic book movies
but rarher Green Lantern to be honest.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:35 am
I didn’t hear a single “thee” or “thou”.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:57 am
Marvel comics sucks nowadays. They might have driven all their resources in making these movies. Almost all of their comics have awesome covers but disgusting interior art. I hope this trailer ain’t like their comics.
December 11th, 2010 at 6:08 am
I love how people say not every movie should be dark, but then Green lantern becomes silly and Thor is the “perfect tone” just admit you want every movie serious!
December 11th, 2010 at 6:40 am
To all those people claiming that Dc is kicking marvels butt, go look at the sales numbers for the past year. You will find a different story.
December 11th, 2010 at 6:40 am
This looks good, but they’ve played way too much of their hand.
With the 5 minute comic-on trailer and now this, we’ve pretty much seen the movie. Just add in a couple of fight scenes and ta-daaaa!
Looking forward to it for the 90 minuter it’ll be and the cog it’ll fill in the Avengers movie machine.
But GL has a bigger scope, and I think Warners/DC is right to keep a lot of material close to the vest.
December 11th, 2010 at 7:17 am
Looks good but I’m more excited about GREEN LANTERN than this…
December 11th, 2010 at 7:35 am
ok…saw it. it’s ok…but I’m really hoping that Marvel rushes to pull this trailer over the weekend and bring back the good trailer…the one that I’ve only been able to find in one place now on line. That one rated a 10/10. this one rates about a 4/10 IMO.
December 11th, 2010 at 9:38 am
Looks pretty good. A few new things beyond the Comic Con stuff (new effects, most notably). I was kind of annoyed when he said “Earth” rather than “Midgard” upon awakening, but it looks pretty good overall.
As far as the Marvel/DC argument, I’m looking forward to GL, Thor and Captain America next year. The more the merrier!
December 11th, 2010 at 9:52 am
THOR looks to be a pretty cool movie. Looking forward to it and Cap America. I think Green Lantern looks great too, I’ll be seeing that for sure. All of them look fun. People need to stop being critics and just enjoy the movies we’re getting nowadays.
Everybody is spoiled now so everybody thinks they are a critic.
The whole 3D thing is very annoying though. There needs to be restrictions in the film industry to stop studios from scamming the public.
It’s not right. If a movie is not filmed for 3D they should not allow the studios to convert it into 3D after the fact. It’s cheap, pathetic, and unfair to do that to audiences. It’s clearly a scam and they are running with it right now because it’s not illegal. That needs to stop.
December 11th, 2010 at 10:03 am
I say thee, yea!
All is looking great except for those Thor vs SHIELD scenes. Kicking and swinging from doorways? Really not Thor’s style, especially against mere mortals.
Really looking forward to this + the Destroyer stuff.
December 11th, 2010 at 10:12 am
Why do people think this trailer presents anything greater than the Green Lantern trailer? They are both the exact same thing. Presenting a vision only people who have followed their series can understand. Both trailers are loaded with CGI. From both trailers the average viewer only sees it’s a special effects superhero movie.
That being said I think Green Lantern has more story to drive the characters so I expect to be disappointed in Green Lantern because I don’t think the movie will do him justice. As for Thor, keep in mind I have never been a Marvel Comics fan, it looks like the Thor movie will be truer to the Marvel Comics characters. I don’t know if that will have a significant effect on people wanting to see it though. But I don’t think people going to see Thor are going to have any great expectations like those going to see Green Lantern.
Of the two I think Thor has the edge. Not because these trailer prove that it is a better movie, rather because there is less room with Thor to disappoint fans. Evaluating Thor alone, I think there is too much special effects, 3D is an overkill, but in this trailer the actors look good so maybe what the trailer doesn’t show is stronger than what it does.
December 11th, 2010 at 10:16 am
THIS LOOKS AMAZING !!!!! Marvel rules !!!
December 11th, 2010 at 10:32 am
Really looking forward to this, the trailer certainly does make me think otherwise.
December 11th, 2010 at 10:42 am
I hope everyone gets the glitter out of their eyes before this crapper starts. It’s my dream that these movies start to finally bomb left and right and they no longer get made. I’d rather have no live action movies instead of crappy ones.
This looks just as pathetically stupid as the Green Lantern one.
December 11th, 2010 at 11:47 am
Looks pretty good so far, it’s in my list for sure.
Peace
December 11th, 2010 at 11:52 am
I think it looks great.
While I am a big Green Lantern fan, I am liking what I see from THOR.
December 11th, 2010 at 12:04 pm
NO MORE 3D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ENOUGH!!!!!!!
I will be seeing this in 2D.
December 11th, 2010 at 12:09 pm
Holy crap in a hat! While there are a few snippets here and there that wasn’t in the sdcc footage, I was already sold after seeing that. But this? I’m triple sold.
December 11th, 2010 at 12:21 pm
Looks like there’s simply a lot of hurt DC fanboys getting their panties in a bunch over this. Whatever; personally, all I’m mostly seeing is a distillation of the Comic-Con sneak peek, and that was pretty great to begin with. But the movie people already had me going as soon as they announced Natalie Portman was co-starring in it.
December 11th, 2010 at 12:32 pm
Looks good. The casting looks pretty good and I’m interested in seeing where the story goes. They got a realistically muscular looking guy to play Thor who can actually probably act well enough to pull it off, which is way better than getting some lame WWE wrestler looking type or somebody who looks like the dude who kill Apollo Creed in the Rocky movie. Appreciate it, Marvel.
December 11th, 2010 at 12:43 pm
THIS MOVIE LOOKS AMAZING AND THE PEOPLE NOT LIKING IT IS CRAZY TO THINK IT DOESN’T LOOK GOOD.
December 11th, 2010 at 1:03 pm
Jury is still out on this one.
There were moments that far exceeded what I was expecting. And then the “oh no, this is Earth,” line made me cringe.
December 11th, 2010 at 4:12 pm
The Destroyer is spot on, as created by Jack (King) Kirby. I’m willing to overlook the multi-ethnic cast, as a necessary effect of a more modern retelling. I would have been more happy if upon awakening “Thor” had exclaimed, “Oh no, this is Midgard”.
December 11th, 2010 at 4:57 pm
The film looks really good and appears an accurate adaptation. Thor tricked into killing Frost Giants by Loki, thus breaking a truce established by Odin. Odin banishes Thor to Earth as a consequence, which leaves the door open for Loki to take over after he either poisons Odin or Odin undergoes the “Odin Sleep.” Thor then has to redeem himself in order to regain his power and save Earth and Asgard! How could that not be a solid storyline?
As usual the DC vs Marvel, Marvel vs DC comments are as pathetic as ever – it’s amazing to see how fanboys allow themselves to be manipulated in the whole “us vs them” mindset established by the big two who are much, much, more alike than different.
December 11th, 2010 at 4:59 pm
R. Says:

That’s mighty white of you.
December 11th, 2010 at 5:20 pm
Great effects, but no way to tell if the story will be any good. I have never been a fan of Thor, and they will have to work overtime to make me care.
That said…yeah, I am a DC fanboy and all, but as least trailer vs trailer clobbered the mess that was GL.

Well they are Norse (i.e. Viking) gods. Heaven forbid them being tall, strong, and white.
December 11th, 2010 at 8:35 pm
Race has nothing to do with Norse Mythology! It’s all about death and fighting for a living, that and a lot og shampoo!

Exactly, That’s about as Silver-Age a plot line as you can get,I wonder will they give Jack a mention in the opening credits?
You know “based on concepts from Nordic Mythology by….”.
December 11th, 2010 at 11:22 pm
Let’s just hope the story is decent so that we can have a rockin’ Thor trilogy!!!
December 12th, 2010 at 5:58 am
so sick of 3D. 3D is a novelty that most theater goers are tired of, why is it being shoved down our throat? I’m a big thor guy, but I’ll only be seeing this in 2D. Looks more promising than I thought it would. Not as good as it could be though, at least from the trailer.
December 12th, 2010 at 6:25 am
Man, I wish they’d stop shoe-horning characters like Iron Man and Thor into these Agent Coulson films. They hog too much screen time.
December 12th, 2010 at 7:51 am
The earth stuff looks fine- it’s the melodrama of Asgard I’m worried about. “I take your power…and I cast you out!” Really? That’s the best dialog we could find for that scene? On the other hand, the scene where he wakes up and realizes where he is struck me as humorous and character-revealing at the same time. Looking forward to the rest of the film.
December 12th, 2010 at 9:43 am
the problem with Marvel is they make the Trailer look good but the movie end up looking worse then the dark Knight
December 12th, 2010 at 11:17 am
I agree that Thor should indeed be a “larger” guy, but the scenes of Asguard look passable.
December 12th, 2010 at 4:35 pm
It wasn’t bad. The reason for Thor on earth needs work as to make him spoiled etc, is pushing it. Not original in the sense that at some point he’s all forgiven and gets his powers back just in time to beat the bad guy. Loki was wearing his helmet, good, and I saw Thor with his on which not having it is like Cap without wings on his mask. We’ll see. Oh and I agree Hal Jordon cracking jokes is not a good sign. It needs to be great. Also when you count up all the weak marvel movies against the same for DC, Marvels not looking good just because they made more. Can we have a really “good” Ironman instead of another joke.
December 12th, 2010 at 8:36 pm
I have to admit, while the trailer was very good, the overall feel doesn’t make me want to race out to the theaters the way the GL trailer does.

December 12th, 2010 at 11:30 pm
wait to c it then judge.it’s insane how a short clip can make u judge this and GL so harshly.but it’s life i guess.so,let’s as comic fans just enjoy the whole bandwagon of comic-based movies,i wanna c em all!!!!!!!!!!
i love marvel, haven’t been exposed to much DC,but they are cool too.always loved the hal jordan costume.so,we got thor, cap,GL next year.it’s gonna be fun.it should be hollywood being taken over by the comic book geeks and we all win.not a marvel vs. dc thing.that’s just sad.
December 13th, 2010 at 9:44 am
Okay. Those who commented on my remark: You are aware that The Aesir (Thor, et al), are part of the Norse pantheon of gods. Portrayed in literature, and comics as Caucasians.
I don’t have a problem with a multi-etnic cast. Simple as that.
December 13th, 2010 at 10:50 am
I like the look of this much better than Green Lantern. I’ll of course see them both, but GL just has a feeling of cheese to it.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:29 pm
Arrrgh….where’s his helmet? He’s fighting without his helmet on.
December 13th, 2010 at 2:36 pm
BTW, people complain about the smallest stuff. “OMG, he called Earth Earth instead of Midgard.” and “BOOOOO! He’s not wearing his helmet in the trailer.” Grow up already. The movie isn’t even out yet.
December 13th, 2010 at 4:01 pm
Clearly all the trolls are not confined to Jotunheim.
December 13th, 2010 at 6:26 pm
looks great! loved the Mjolnir shockwave!!!
December 14th, 2010 at 5:55 pm
I knew it ! People playing World of Warcraft have already created their characters as (mostly) a Paladin or a Shaman lol xD !
