It’s actually funny how many Newsarama writers (me included, three years on an AM news station) and readers have radio experience. Maybe comic readers are naturally drawn to media studies and careers?

Radio is in my blood. My grandfather Lawrence McDonald was a broadcaster for WGN Radio in Chicago, IL, in the mid 20th Century. I have listened to old reel-to-reel tapes of him calling boxing matches, and it is extremely cool.

I wasn’t able to get to the podcast, but I’m VERY interested in participating. I have a radio background, having spend 10 of the last 15 years behind the mic. I’ve also produced a podcast for the last 6 months or so, with many of the episodes having a genre or comic book theme. Sometimes it’s just goofy stuff.

I love this idea! Will you guys be on XM Radio someday? I’d love to listen to headline news and breaking news about comics, movies, and interviews with creators while driving to and from work! I’d also love to hear music from various movies and TV shows based on comic books periodically. Kinda like NPR.

Break a leg! Close to 20 years working in radio and I wind up listen to more podcasts than broadcasts. It’s still the best medium for a specific talk show concept! Can’t wait to hear you guys “live” one day.
