Hey Federiken,
Thank you for bringing up a great point. In this age of immense amount of information readily available at your fingertips, no distiguished author can claim ignorance to certain cultures, political situations, and religious accuracies period. This is a smaller world we live in, getting certain aspects correct when creating stories for the masses should be a necessity not an option. This separates a true craftsman from a careless rookie. Attention to detail is key.
And you sir have solid command of English, keep writing!

If I'm not mistaken, one of the first places Bruce is going to visit is Argentina, Isn´t it?
If that's the case, I hope the setting will be a faithful representation of my country. I love Morrison´s writting and El Gaucho is a very generic but charismatic hero. But I'm afraid that the general unknowledge of Argentina can be a source of misinterpretations and it could result in a low faithful setting for El Gaucho and his adventures. His look is pretty interesting but it doesn't really say "Soy argentino", since he looks more like a Mexican mariachi with a mask and boleadoras than a true Gaucho. Maybe a more "Country meets Big City" touch would help in his look, but I don't really know what that could be (Not an Argentina soccer team shirt, that I can tell). Maybe its just me, but I believe the look is far away for being adequate for an Argentinian Hero.
Another complete aspect would be the character ideology and modus operandi. For instance, I think his fights should be more "social equality" targeted than just "criminals beating", since in Argentina the biggest problems come more from the social-political situations and the economical debacles than the criminal rate (which is, anyway, pretty high). I know Mr. Morrison is a very sensitive and cult man, and I'm sure he will do his best, but I'm afraid that is not always enough. For example, in the Peter Milligan's excelent run on X-Force/X-Statix, there was a scene with a argentinian super heroine whose flashback story showed an Argentina very unrelated to the actual country, and both the references and the drawing failed in making a good representation of our true sceneries (and that taking into acount that Allred is one of my favorites american authors!). I hope this time the creative team will do the research (more in the line of Phil Jiménez in his Wonder Woman adventure in Argentina) and I'm sure it will be an excellent comic, just like the 99% of Batman stories that come from Morrison's mind.

Sorry for my poor english and thank you, Alan, for your always interesting and entertaining articles.

I'm waiting for free "Batman Inc." buttons to hit my FLCS (a classic bat-oval or bat-signal icon with a white "Inc." in the center).

DOMINIC: Keep in mind, that with the exception of the Knight and Squire (who are NEW to their roles and are not the originals), these guys were meant to be heroes who never rose above C-list characters, so having a couple of silly elements like an "EG" belt buckle makes sense.

AKACHRIS: The helmet is similar and they both have capes and body suits, but the color scheme is totally different. I do think Prometheus could use a different helmet or mask now, since the Knight's works so well for him.

GLENN WALKER: No, that villain with the robot horse has no connection to the Argentinian hero with a whip other than using the same name.

JLAJRC: The Ultramarine Corps got pretty nicely dominated in JLA: CLASSIFIED #1-3. Vixen wasn't there, so obviously she left the team before that adventure. During the end of that arc, they journeyed to the infant universe of Qweq where there existed an Earth completely without superheroes (originally, Morrison intended it to be OUR Earth). We next saw the Knight and Squire in the pages of Batman, so obviously they either returned on their own or the entire Ultramarine Corps came back in an undisclosed adventure. The Ultramarine Corps had a presence during Final Crisis, but since Superbia fell during that story, the status of its other members such as Warmaker 1 and others is unknown.

And Freedom Fighters is an interesting suggestion. Which reminds me, anyone not reading their current comic book series is cheating themselves.

RUSS: There are definitely interesting similarities.

@woofus: I've got a feeling that even if the DC folks had checked a Spanish-English dictionary, they still would've gone with "Bat-Hombre". The Spanish for "bat" (as in the little flying mammal) is murciélago, and "murciélago-hombre" or a blended "murcielagombre" ("murciélagombre"?) would be a bit much of a mouthful.

I totally forgotten about the Ultramarine Corps. Whatever happened to them?

I'm not a big fan of the Dark Ranger outfit. If you take away the accesories, he looks more like he was inspired by the Human Bomb.

Speaking of the Human Bomb, since the Freedom Fighters now have their own series, I'd love to see you tackle them.

In the title of he character subsection 'Gaucho' is misspelled. In Argentina 'Guacho' is an insult actually.

Haha, that first panel looks like a NAMBLA meeting.

Are those the heraldic arms of Knight? Or, crossed hammers proper?

"Wingman." Huh huh. Maybe the fat Italian should have gotten this identity.

Fortunately, the Sioux language is noun-adjective, otherwise "Raven Red" might get confused with a Marvel character.

And "Bat-Hombre." What--nobody in the office could be bothered to look up how to say "Bat" in Spanish?

Too bad DC didn't think of having an Afro-Batman with big lips and a bone through his nose.

Was the El Gaucho who appeared in the late 1970s with Wonder Woman the same El Gaucho who was a member of the Club of Heroes?
