Spike’s “Scream 2010″ — they evidently had elective surgery on the word “Awards” — was held in LA on Saturday night, and aired on Spike TV Tuesday night. The show is mainly a celebration of sci-fi/horror movies and TV, but there are four comic book categories, and here’s who won:
Best Comic Book or Graphic Novel:
The Walking Dead
Best Comic Book Writer:
Geoff Johns
Best Comic Book Artist:
Frank Quitely
Best Comic Book Movie:
Kick-Ass
As we’ve remarked before, their criteria for nomination is somewhat puzzling — Asterios Polyp and Blackest Night were both contenders for “Best Comic Book or Graphic Novel” — but there’s no denying that it’s very cool to see guys like Robert Kirkman pick up an award on national cable TV.
In fact, here’s a video of Johns picking up his award, along with some bonus hijinx courtesy of Green Lantern movie stars Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, picking up the “most anticipated movie” trophy.

I stopped getting Walking Dead monthly at issue 73 in favor of the trade-wait. Seeing the volume 13 cover in your post has me salivating!

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
