Stylized, super-cute versions of Marvel superheroes: clearly a winning formula. Just see the success of Super Hero Squad, Marvel Mighty Muggs, and the Marvel-themed apparel from Tokidoki (that Cap shirt is spectacular).
But there truly is something special about the cover of Strange Tales II #3, drawn by Ivan Brunetti. Maybe it’s M.O.D.O.K. skipping rope. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Cardio?) Maybe it’s Wasp jazzercising with the X-Men. Or maybe it’s just the novelty of seeing Ivan Brunetti — a man not afraid to get laughs by depicting children unknowingly chugging jars of “AIDS blood” — illustrating so many Marvel characters. Whatever it is, it’s great.
The first Strange Tales was one of the most memorable Marvel products in years, so there’s no reason not to get suitably excited about the follow-up. Read our interview with Strange Tales II editor Jody LeHeup here.

It’s definitely great, but it’s not even the best cover of Strange Tales II. That’d be issue 2′s cover.
