What, you seriously haven’t seen it yet? Well then, here it is, the trailer for the animated version of All-Star Superman:
Yep — looks like it’ll be a pretty faithful adaptation story-wise, but the art doesn’t look much like Frank Quitely’s style. (At all.) Next week’s Superman/Batman: Apocalypse paid tribute to Michael Turner’s art, and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies was Ed McGuinness-esque, so it’s a bit of a bummer that this doesn’t seem to have much of Quitely’s distinctive touches. But, this is also only like a minute and a half of it, so let’s wait to judge until we have a final product, eh?
There’s also the matter of — as a friend of mine was discussing earlier today — Grant Morrison and Quitely’s 12-issue series was so perfect and definitive as a comic book, does it really “need” to be adapted into another form?

They definitely did a fine job keeping Quitely’s style intact without completely changing the look of the animated movies that have been coming out.

Hate to be a negative nely here but… 90% of the DC animated movies are just barely OK.
SO we have yet another friggn Superman D-DVD.
The animation looks NOTHING like the comic. AND its not very good at all either.
Other than GREEN LANTERN and the DarkKnight DC dvds- all the reast have horrendously WEAK animation.
Anybody ever see freaking AKIRA or any MANGA? Im not saying to do it in that style but… the INTROS to GIJOE, THUNDERCATS, and XMEN- blow away anything that ive seen in 20yrs of mainstream cartoons.
lets see one comic property do animation that good and brag about it.
ALL of these DC dvds are utter nonsense
