Looks like the people over at Warner’s Animation have found their Superman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor for their upcoming “All-Star Superman” movie. James Denton (Desperate Housewives), Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) and Anthony LaPaglia (Without a Trace). This would be Denton’s and Hendricks’ first foray into animated voice overs, while LaPaglia had worked on Happy Feet and the upcoming Legend of the Guardians. In addition to Denton, Hendicks, and LaPaglia, Ed Asner is Daily Planet editor Perry White, Frances Conroy as Ma Kent with Linda Cardelini, Arnold Vosloo and Matthew Gray Gubler as yet to be named voices.
I am more than enthused about this casting call. While, I might not be the biggest Superman fan on the planet, this just seems stellar, especially for the no-brainer that is Ed Asner for Perry White.
So sound off, readers. What do you think of All-Star Superman‘s cast?

Christina Hendricks. In a freakin’ CARTOON.
F*ck that. Cast her as a live action Lois, where I can actually LOOK at her… Then I’ll be interested. Besides, maybe that’ll get us Jon Hamm as Supes/Clark too (Please, make it happen)!
Anyhow, as much fun as All Star Superman was I, once again, don’t really give a shit about this. So they’ll cram the 12 issues into yet another lousy 80 minute production. Probably. I suppose it could be good, since the source material is ace, so at least that’s a step in the right direction. I just don’t expect much, given the history of these slapdash DVDs.
Anyhow, the rest of the cast: Asner’s a great choice, of course, but I can’t quite imagine LaPaglia as Luthor. The rest of the cast? I’ve never heard of ANY of them. No big enticements here.
For once, however, I can understand not using the usual Timm-verse actors. I would prefer that, normally, but in this case I think it makes sense. I just have no idea if they’ll be any good.

I only just found out about this, and am quite psyched!
I think I saw Denton in ‘Desperate Housewives;’ my mom used to watch it. And I saw ‘Happy Feet,’ and am DYING for the release of ‘Legend of the Guardians.’
I totally love Matthew as Reid in ‘Criminal Minds,’ and I think he rocked in the ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks’ movies. So knowing he’s in another animated movie is totally making me freak out! I cannot wait for this movie! xD
