I’m happy to see this title continuing, but I do hope that DC will try to get their kids books out into more mainstream market areas like supermarkets. Unless kids have comic reading parents they probably don’t frequent a comic book shop. But all in all it’s good news and I will probably pick up a few copies for my friend’s children who might enjoy it.

Albert I get what you’re saying. But since they just did it for Scooby Doo, they might do the relaunch for Looney Tunes with the new cartoon coming out.

Or maybe because its Bugs and company, they’re allowed to maintain long numbers from the higher ups. Who knows?

The entire crappy DC Universe line should be in this format — cartoonish and aimed for kids only. It’s perfect for their childish characters. Once they graduate from baby stuff the kids can get to where the REALLY cool characters and stories are: MARVEL.

I enjoy the animated series, and the last book. Hope to see it continue to go wide on the entire DCU. Let’s see Uncle Sam, Hoppy the Marvel Bunny, Faceless Hunter from Saturn, Bumblebee, Stargirl, Manhunter, Batgirl (Barbara), Black Lightning, and more!

Hopefully Rick Burchett will bring back some of that spirit from The Batman Adventures, where he worked with the late great Mike Parobeck (God rest his soul, I still miss him). I still consider that title as one of the greatest Batman books ever. No joke.

The high numbering logic is mostly a myth propagated by the publishers themselves. It provides an easy out for the laziness of their marketing departments whenever there’s a creative team change on books that aren’t expected to do all that well anyway.

Yeah, it was such a turn off when I was a kid to see that Spiderman was in the 100s, and Detective and Action were much higher. Definitely made me think twice before buying those books, because issue number is sooo important.

Palmer, DC’s of the idea (not the worst mind you, I can see their point) that books meant for kids shouldn’t have long number runs cause kids don’t quite get that like we do.

So Johnny DC usually goes through a relaunching process of the books on and off. They’ve said they’re doing the same thing for Billy Batson as well.
