I’ve enjoyed all of Matthew Vaughn’s movies, to date (especially Layer Cake…oh, and Stardust!).
So, I have faith that this will be great (for an X-Men movie).
Hopefully, it will be better than the only good X-Men movie (the 2nd one).

I guess if Inception hadn’t come out first, this movie could have rocked so much like Inception… Now, they’ll have to rethink the whole idea. Funny thing is, if Inception came out later than First Class, would Nolan rewrote the whole script as well?

Re-write or no re-write, I really doubt this movie will come close to being as good as Inception was.

No, I can’t see the future; I just don’t have high-hopes for another FOX-men.

Actually Inception brought to mind something I almost wish could be retconned out of existence: the danger room. You have Professor X, who dips in people’s brains all the time, why oh why would he waste oodles of cash building a room to demonstrate battles when he could have the kids duke it out with each other’s nightmares and whatnot, Inside their own heads or in his?

I think it’s easy to say, “just let the rights go back.” But the X-Men franchise makes a ton of money for Fox. X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which was not all that fantastic of a movie, made 86 million opening weekend, which is a pretty good. They’re probably not going to let go of that for as long as they can.

I wouldn’t mind seeing what a Marvel produced X-Men movie. So far Iron Man has been awesome and Thor looks to be following in the footsteps.

The rewrites though seem a little silly for this movie. I could understand if Vaughn was playing with a big dream sequence, but I guess we’ll never know how close they were since it’s being rewritten.

Don’t know why they are bothering, judging by the release date this is like every film fox makes based on a franchise, a place holder for the rights. Just let the rights return to Marvel, let it stew for a few years and then after the Avengers start the X-Men up properly.
