Upon further review...

*Spoilers*

1. Helmsworth looks great as THOR (especially in "costume"). The action clip of him leaping toward LOKI (before the T H O R movie lettering expands into full view) is very cool, which looks to be inspired by an action pose from a comic book. The same can be said of the scenes of THOR throwing Mjolnir and using it to "upper-cut" an aggressor...AWESOME!

2. Concerning The Destroyer...it looks totally bad-ass! It's very faithful to what's been rendered in the comic books and I can't wait to see THOR fighting The Destroyer in the film. It should be one-hell-of-a-battle.
(For the agent's question to [agent] Coulson concerning the Destroyer armor..."Is it one of STARK's?" Haha, I thought that was funny).

3. Concerning the Warriors Three...Fandral looks the best and most accurate of the group. In my opinion, Volstagg is too small (girth-wise) and Hogun looks a little young. Regardless, I'm just happy to see that the majority of THOR's supporting cast is in this movie. In this trailer however, I don't recall seeing a Balder-looking character. I also hoped to see a sign of the Midgard Serpent in this trailer. Maybe it'll show up in upcoming footage.

4. Concerning Sir Anthony Hopkins as ODIN...I LOVE the scene of him scolding THOR. He sounded like a powerful and proud, but disappointed and angry Father who has to punish his child for disobedience. In the scene, Sir Anthony Hopkins' intensity is very well done, but of course he NEVER fails to deliver in a scene/movie, being the elite actor that he is.

All-in-all...I am very impressed with what I've seen so far.

Come on 05/06/11!

OK... Anyone know where we can see it NOW?

I don't understand this., They screen this stuff at Comic Con, in the hopes of creating buzz, but then don't let anyone else see it? WTF? A few days after SDCC, put it out online for everyone to see. Maybe then I'll be more excited about this movie.

Or, heaven forbid, SDCC could webcast their bigger panels and make them available for the rest of us that way. Or G4 could actually make their coverage worth watching by televising the bigger panels, or working out agreements to run the trailers exclusively as part of their coverage.

AT LONG LAST!

The live action movie of my all-time favorite comic book superhero is coming to the big screen and so far, based on the footage (trailer) I just saw, the movie looks as if it will satisfy my very critical, unforgiving critique and expectations of comic book movie adaptations.

*Mild spoilers below*

As I expect, there will be moments in the movie that will undoubtedly disappoint me (for example, from what I've seen in the trailer so far), THOR's question "Oh no, this is Earth isn't it?" doesn't sound quite like something he would ask in that manner. Perhaps a simple (but confident) statement/proclamation "Midgard." Instead of asking Jane Foster (or to whomever he was speaking), he could have just...known that he was on Midgard. But I digress, that's a very small grievance. I'm pleasantly surprise that he seems to be wearing the cape very often throughout the movie and also that it's as red as it is. I thought for sure (prior to seeing the 1st couple of movie stills of THOR) that the cape would be more of a burgundy color (like Superman's cape in Superman Returns), but I'm not complaining about the choice of the red. (I guess we have the movie 300 to thank for the decision to use the cape). The winged helmet looks pretty cool too. All in all, I pleased with the costumes of the characters we've been shown so far. Even Heimdall's character looks pretty cool (and I initially had reservations about Elba playing him), but from how he looked in the trailer...I can work with it.

I'm psyched!

Thank you MARVEL for finally bringing THOR to the big screen. I never thought I'd live to see the day when the Thunder God would be featured in his very own live-action film and even though May 6, 2011 is 10-months away, I now have something to help inspire me and keep me going, through these tough economic times.

"It is a GREAT time to be a superhero comic book fan!"
