I felt like Kunis' only role was to be "the girl in the movie." She performed well enough that it worked for me. While I am glad I watched it, I would have a hard time recommending it to everyone. I thought Gary Oldman did a fantastic job, & he carried the film for me. I did not like that it would not take a clear stance on the filmmaker's view of religion. Kind of like what you said, I felt like they were going in 1 direction & then thought "What if the Catholics/Evangelicals come after us?" & then ignored that direction. Also, I was a bit confused as to what Mila Kunis' purpose is at the end of the film. --J. I totally agree with the review.
