Green Lantern: The Animated Series On The Way

Just in from The Hollywood Reporter, it seems Cartoon Network let early word slip of a coming Green Lantern Animated Series on the network.

Not much was said about the show, other than it is a joint venture between Warner Bros and Turner Networks (CN’s owner). The show is based on the DC Comics character who has a live action movie coming in Spring 2011, and could be on the air soon after the movie, in Fall 2011.

Good! Good! I hope Mattel drops all support for classic comics merchandise by then. I.e. DC Universe Classics.

There’s a small contingent or retarded snob classic-comic fans that support “the classics”. These morons wouldn’t have their precious Classics if it weren’t for the “toonz” like JLU and Batman the Animated Series. The further exposure coupled with movies like Burton’s original Batman plus Batman Begins made it possible for these action figures in the first place.

Really? “Retard,” “Morons” Do you really have to be insufferably insulting to those whose opinion is different from yours? Can’t you simply say, “While some prefer the classics I prefer the newer versions.”? And does it REALLY have to be an either or? Can’t there be room for both?
